Another advantage to carrying more forward is when in a crowd, you can discreetly "rest" the inside of your forearm against the butt without it being apparent that you are protecting something.... your arm is simply at your side.

I'm not going to ask how you carry, but I suspect FP might be interested in the method

OK, I am game you make that assertion based on what data?

I have spent the last week talking to more ammo manufactures than I care to mention, because were looking at carrying defensive cartridges in our store. Not one reliably passes the FBI testing protocol. There are literally dozens of 9mm that do. Federal claimed the HST did, but it was fired from a barrel length that does not exist on any product .380, and subsequent independent testing by various individuals and groups has not sustained that claim. My favorite review because the author was hopeful can be found here. Alas it was not to be. http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/201...t-federal-hst/

I am open to reviewing the ballistic test data, and critical incident reports. You can post them or PM them to me.

I am not knocking your choice of caliber, heck even is .22LR is better than no gun. Don't get me wrong I don't want to get shot with a .380, but then I don't really want to get shot by a BB gun either.

If your going to assert a round is as capable as a 9mm for self defense, than we need to identify the round, manufacture and performance against the world recognized baseline standard.

Have you considered AIWB as an option?

Having seem many posts from grantar2. I recommend you visit him as he suggested. I may even make the long drive there one day just to see what he recommends even though I have a carry solution that works.

If they ever let me out of the hospital, I head to north SD county for work. Wife might travel with me as my personal assistant since I won't be lifting anything heavier than a paperclip for a while, so I'll have her gain some Intel while we're at it.

                  I carry a Shield 40 in the 2:30 to 3:00 with a Galco hybrid. I'm 5"10 @ 205lbs.
No Issues. Jeans with Polo's, t-shirts, or hawaiian shirts. The holster is a GAlCO KT652B (right handed).
                  Around $60 on amazon.

If your happy with your holster not need to waste money on anything else. But would still love to have you stop by and try on different types of carry, just so you have more information to help others.
