    Shoulder rig...any recommendations?

Been looking at the Galco rigs. It is for a Sig P220. It would be a fall/winter carry situation.
Or reasons not to have a shoulder rig as well.
    Thanks for any info.

Have one made , you will be quite a degree more satisfied than off the shelf. What I use for my 220 came from Sam Andrews , I have both vertical and horizontal from him ( along with a bunch of other holsters for a wide variety of sidearms).........

I've got a Galco Miami Classic. I like it. No complaints. Fits well under a zippered hoodie or a coat.

Why do you think a shoulder holster is the right choice? What environment will you be wearing it?

There is a holster made by a company called "Masters"... I have a S&W 4506 and I bought a shoulder rig from this mfgr at a gun show... very nice.. and the vendor provides great support....

And another point.... I have my pistol, 2 spare mags and my light all part of my shoulder rig.... So I can be "Ready to go" by simply grabbing my rig.... And then put on my pants if I have time!!

+1. Sam Andrews has made me some awesome shoulder rigs. He's just about the only guy I'd go to for a shoulder rig (since my favorite leather guy is sadly in poor health). Sam Andrews makes this:

Isn't that awesome? C'mon, right? Sam Andrews has made me some really slick Solo Shoulder Rigs. For lightweight compact guns, they just disappear under a suit coat or jacket. Check out the Springbreak Shoulder Holster. It's a well-designed vertical carry shoulder rig. Vertical shoulder holsters really hide the shape of full-sized duty guns and they conceal easier under a concealment garment. For me, unless I am carrying a compact pistol, being a thin average height man, I have to use a vertical shoulder holster or a canted shoulder holster. I've liked mine. I still prefer an OWB holster at the 3 o'clock, but, that's just me.

                    Cheers! --1911ShooterPhil

It has its pro's and con's. Worth keeping one in your repertoire.

                          Go with vertical carry....

Whatever holster you pick go with a vertical carry. The horizontal carry is dangerous and whatever speed advantage is not worth the safety trade off.

Case in point: A few years ago in Imperial County, East of San Diego, an off-duty Border Patrolman was wearing a horizontal carry shoulder holster at a house party. A lady he knew came up from behind and hugged him; the gun went off killing her instantly. I don't know the type of gun (whatever the BP allows for off-duty) but I do know every time you turn your back on someone you are pointing a loaded gun at them. If he was wearing a vertical carry shoulder holster it would have shot down into the ground, if at all. Just my 2 cents.

Check out Alessi Holsters, they are awesome. I have the bodyguard and fieldmaster. Easy to get Tom on the phone and discuss your needs.
