I'm around 240lbs 6'0" and my better half tells me I need to lose weight so I guess I qualify.

I use a CrossBreed SuperTuck Deluxe IWB with my G19 at 3 o'clock position all day long.

Just don't wear "athletic fit" clothing and you'll be fine.

To the OP: really it is about calories in, you don't need a vitamix or any other of thousands of diet "solutions" out there, but if it works for you fine, all the power to you. Do you know how much you do eat, against your resting daily calorie rate (BMR for basal metobolic rate)? You can make a big difference eating less, most people just are simply eating/drinking in too many calories. Of course - exercise is fundamental to good health, mind, and body, but not cornerstone to weight loss which is all about the kitchen.

Just do it. Once you patiently make ground and feel so much better, get compliments, get women smiling (I am assuming you might like that), you will get more of your boost.

Fat guy here (6'2" and 280 lbs). I have such a hard time with this, for two reasons:
            1. My pants fall too much from the weight of the holster unless I wear my belt dangerously tight. And I am using a simply rugged proper gun belt and Alien Gear 2.0 holster. Still sags and drives me crazy.

            2. My grip end prints bad when I sit down or even lean forward to pick something up. Bad.

I have a hard time believing any holster change will fix these problems, so I have been carrying my LCP either IWB in a soft tuck, pocket in a desantis nemesis, or back pocket in a wallet style sleeve. I wish I could carry my 4" pistols though.

One thing you are doing wrong... when you go to pick something up you should squat and not bend over. It will print even if you are a skinny guy.

If the sagging is bothering you maybe check out the Remora or Sticky Holster brands.

I've found printing happens more with placement than anything else. If I'm doing more standing than anything, appendix carry works the best for me, even with a full sized pistol. If sitting is involved, then I use a left handed leather holster and carry at the 5 o'clock position. Hope this helps.

                    Suspenders......you need them.

They can often be worn under a shirt so nobody can see them. Get "Perry" type, they hook onto your belt instead of your pants.

                        Ok, 5'8" / 255 lbs.

                        Carrying a full-size PX4 9mm

In a Remora holster with the full sweat shield

You've seen front view, arms down (above). Here's front view, arms up

                        Side view

                        Showing some skin

For concealed carry I like 2-2;30 with the more-forward cant. Comfortable standing, sitting or crouching. Easier to control and defend. The cant works when in a defensive crouch, as opposed to standing relaxed at the range.

OWB is around 3;30 in a Serpa holster

Ok. Other than the fact that I'm about 6 inches taller, I probably weigh more and we have a very similar build.

I don't have my Cali CCW yet but I do have an AZ non-resident and have had the opportunity to carry in several states while on a road trip just a few weeks ago (AZ, NM and TX to be exact, drove to east TX). After taking the CCW class near home and working out lots of kinks there (part of the course) I carried for 6 days out of state. I carried my full size PX-4 .40 Cal the whole time. It was fun but I learned some things. Fortunately I never flashed and never printed and my family never knew I was carrying until I told them after the trip. TX law regarding flashing and printing is pretty lenient (no printing laws there), more so that California law, so I felt a bit safer if I made a mistake. AZ and NM both allow open carry so it was no issue there is something "slipped".

From one "fat guy" to another, here is what I have learned:

                          1) Give up on t-shirts. Go to the big and fat guy store and buy some nice clearance rack button up the front short sleeve shirts (maybe some long sleeve for when it gets colder too). Maybe some Polos too. Buy a size bigger than you need, it makes life easier. Wear them untucked with your jeans or shorts. Maybe you can buy a larger than your normal t-shirt there too, but see #2 below. I'm pretty convinced that I won't carry in a t-shirt at this point. Casual button up or Polo's is where I'm going.

                          2) Wear an undershirt beneath the above shirt. It makes the whole IWB holster much much more comortable. I wear thicker t-shirt like shirts rather than the thin Fruit of Loom stuff. Definitely makes a difference. I have experimented without a t-shirt underneath and did't like it much.

                          3) If you go with shorts, buy a size bigger and get a good belt to hold them up. No cheap belts. For that matter, no cheap shorts. Buy a better brand that'll stand up to the weight of the gun for a long term. I'm not sold on CCing in shorts yet, need to work on it more over the next few weeks and see what works. I need to get new shorts too. Same goes for pants as well. After my CCW class two belt loops on my Levies had ripped off on the bottom. The holster took it's tole. Granted, your not going to run around on a daily basis and draw and holster all day, but still.

                          4) I've looked at some belts online made for CC specifically and while pricey (like $100 each), they look like they will stand up better than the average $35 belt has. Be ready to invest in a good belt. My $50 big and fat guy store leather bet took a beating. Still wearable but the clips worked the leather pretty good. That's why I'm eyeing leather CC beats made to take the clips.

                          5) Get something like an Alien Gear IWB with two belt clips vice one. Much better weight distribution across your side and stays in place in everyday activity.

                          6) Realize that no matter what you do, your pants are going to sag a bit more on the side with the gun. My solution was two fully loaded 10 round mags in the opposite pocket. The pants always felt more even that way and seems to fit more like when I wasn't carrying. Could have been my imagination I suppose.

                          7) The CCW instructor told us this and I think it holds true in my short experience in this arena. CCing is pain in the butt. You have to give a bit more thought into what you throw on to leave the house than usual. The idea is to make it hard for anyone to notice that extra bulge on our already bulging waist lines. Going out in cheap shorts and a t-shirt isn't really conducive to hiding the gun you are looking at. Wardrobe changes may be needed.

                          8) Practice at home and find out what works for you. I still carry at home just to try different combinations and see what works and doesn't. Once I have my CCW I'll hopefully have a good grip on what to wear to go out in public and not stand out.

                          Just my $0.02 worth!

If you google "holsters for fat guys" you'd be surprised how many times it's been asked, including here on CG in 2009: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=253119

                            Good luck in your search.

Thanks to all, I finally decided on trying the Aliengear IWB 2.0. A total of 3 holsters for 70 bucks. Not a whole lot of money so I wont be hurt if they all dont work.

You can definitely rock a tshirt if you are on the larger side. The same rule applies in getting it a size larger than you normally would. Oh, and stay the heck away from athletic/euro fit tshirts. Those are wrong for a number of reasons.

The thickness of a shirt will help conceal/breakup the outline of your gun. Also, the more the shirt "hangs" at your side the more it will hide your weapon.

I've been using this belt since September. It works great and only cost $26.00 on Amazon.
