I'm going in for my interview tomorrow. Anyone have any particular advice? The Sheriff's LT who called me said he will run through ten questions. I don't know what they are, or if there will be any discussion before, during, or after.

The 10 questions are right on the application.
Look here: http://ocsd.org/civicax/filebank/blo...x?BlobID=31601
The 10 questions start on page 3 under Applicant Clearing Questions. Easy Peazy.Comment

It's very low key. Non confrontational. They go over the questions on then po and make small talk. Don't be overly chatty or try to be funny.Originally posted by tony270It's easy to be a keyboard warrior, you would melt like wax in front of me, you wouldn't be able to move your lips.Originally posted by repubconservPrint it out and frame it for all I careOriginally posted by el chivoI don't need to think at all..XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOriginally posted by pjsigYou are talking to someone who already won this lame conversation, not a brick a wall. Thanks, everyone for the advice. I didn't realize that they'll go over the same questions on the application. Will remember not to be chatty, and not to try to be funny; be 100% honest and forthright. I would anyway but still always good advice.USN Veteran, Gun Owners of Calif. Member, NRA Life Member

I sort of freaked myself out, asking myself , "what if they ask this or that?"
I was pleasantly surprised. He had a Google earth of my house, asked if I lived there, then asked about my high electricity bill, and that led to solar.
The application stuff was like when you buy a firearm, he just read the questions and confirmed my answers were correct, ran me and asked if I've been to New Jersey, stuff like that.
Cakewalk. Honest and done. They're pulling electricity usage information? I'm assuming they're doing this under the guise of the Release of Information and Declaration clause of the application. Does this give them carte blanche to dig into any aspect of your life?
I guess you could have it worse.

For me, the interview was the easiest part of the whole process. Waiting for three and a half months to get that call was definitely the hardest.**** your feelings!Comment

Nope. I chose to provide an electricity bill as one of my utilities proving residence. It was my "true up" bill that I get once a year from Edison. It seemed high to him until I expalined that the bill is that number divided by 12.They're pulling electricity usage information? When the application asks for moving violations in the past 5 years, do you have to write down even the ones that were dropped because you won in court?Comment
