Yeah, I've heard nothing but good things about TJ, and likely the route I'll go. No I haven't received my approval yet...just had the Residence check so probably another month till approval. Not much of a gamble tho, worst case is they stop issuing and I'm out a couple hundred bucks...but I'm confident I'll get it. Even the interviewing officer said if everything was truthful on the app to go ahead and schedule training whenever was convenient.

Wait a sec....this doesn't make sense to me....the only way you can be "charged" with a crime is if the shoot isn't justified or righteous. Are you stating some one was charged because the training they received was erroneous and taught them they could shoot when in fact they couldn't? Link please.

This has come up in other states, and in those cases both the instructor and students were charged. Why risk it.

Yes, civil would be a different thing....I was just questioning because he said "Charged" not sued. Based on that line of thought....it seems to me then a lawyer could say if you'd taken defensive pistol classes that you were showing a mindset of "wanting" or preparing to shoot someone or that if you competed in 3 gun or comps that you were a "gun nut" with a shooting fetish........ I suspect a smart lawyer can ALWAYS find something to spin in a negative light. More so possibly than being one of the hundreds of people who unknowingly choose a OCSD approved class that happened to be "less" in instruction than some of the others available......

I spoke with someone who took Mike Mueller's class.
Lets Just say his training and qualification follows Greg Block's curriculum ........ from 6 months ago.
Maybe even a step down, I don't think you even fire the 72 rounds during qual.

yup that's what I heard from TJ's class yesterday too when I went to do the qualification to add/delete guns to my ccw.

IMHO - if you're going to carry, get the proper training!
