My CCW class does not start for some time and I was hoping to practice on a regular basis with the two handguns I hope to have on my license. My question is HOW I should practice i.e., at what range? what size "group" should I be striving for? Just what defines "qualifying"? Thanks...

Or you can just sign up local USPSA, IDPA, or PPC matches. My CCW class does not start for some time and I was hoping to practice on a regular basis with the two handguns I hope to have on my license. People who can shoot matches usually have no problem passing CCW test.Comment

Interestingly, in San Diego, for my CCW they required 100% in thor. cavity or cran. ocular, but did not require a 15 yard distance. Really basic for anyone with any experience at all. I passed with no problem with all three guns listed on my permit - XD40,XD9sc,LC9.sigpic

I think a much more interesting problem is where will folks be able to practice their CCW-type shooting, once a license is obtained?
Most ranges do not allow- movement
- drawing from a holster
- rapid fire
