    CCW practice?

My CCW class does not start for some time and I was hoping to practice on a regular basis with the two handguns I hope to have on my license. My question is HOW I should practice i.e., at what range? what size "group" should I be striving for? Just what defines "qualifying"? Thanks...

I shot both of my carry guns at 7, 10, 15, and 20 yards before i had to qualify.

Or you can just sign up local USPSA, IDPA, or PPC matches.
People who can shoot matches usually have no problem passing CCW test.

                Sure.

Now do it with a .32 ACP Tomcat.

Don't have anything that small, too hard to score those little tiny holes, I'll just run my Kakr CW9 or my S&W640, that should make it more interesting for the reloads.

Looking at the different course of fire, I better start practicing reloads with my 5 shot revolver. I would need to reload twice multiple times to qual.

Interestingly, in San Diego, for my CCW they required 100% in thor. cavity or cran. ocular, but did not require a 15 yard distance. Really basic for anyone with any experience at all. I passed with no problem with all three guns listed on my permit - XD40,XD9sc,LC9.

No one should fail. That's a ridiculously stupid big target.

CCW classes are fun and you learn!!

I think a much more interesting problem is where will folks be able to practice their CCW-type shooting, once a license is obtained?

                              Most ranges do not allow
                              • movement
                              • drawing from a holster
                              • rapid fire
but those are important skills to learn and keep current.
