I just sent my app. I'm gambling on the interim sheriff just saying "Screw it, follow the law. I don't have time to fight on this front too." If I'm wrong I'm only out $10.
Once a permanent one is elected things may tighten up again due to politics. I'd like to hit this window while it may be cracked open.Comment

Sent my application in on Monday the 24th. Checked the USPS tracking site and it was received via certified mail on the 25th.
Also, I am contacting all of my friends who have been pro 2nd or ever expressed interest in a CCW. Encouraging them to consider applying and sending them info and links. Posted a blurb on Facebook saying to message me if they have questions etc. Getting a good response from a wide spectrum of folks.Last edited by FilmGuy; 02-26-2014, 7:19 PM.Comment

Wow! This is GREAT!
Today is the last day for SD Sheriff Gore to change his mind and ask for en banc review. Dittos for CA AG Harris to try to butt ask for en banc review.
March 6th is the last day for a CA9 judge to request a vote on sue sponte en banc review by the entire 9th.
May 16th is the last day for SD Sheriff Gore to request cert. to appeal straight to SCOTUS -- he has NO right to this appeal and, esp if he didn't request en banc, is highly unlikely to get it. Even if he got it, he'd probably lose that appeal.
So, my guess is that come March 7th (or shortly thereafter), LASD will start processing those apps using a self-defense Good Cause standard.Comment

In my opinion, it would be truly amazing if the LASD just lays down on March
7th. With left leaning antis like Tanaka involved they are most likely looking for ways to delay and distort implementation of this decision.
According to USPS tracking, my application will arrive today. As previously posted, there is a 90 day limitation on the time to process, but they will play games with that for months or even years, in my opinion.
It may (and most probably will) take additional legal action to force them to comply.
I hope I am wrong. We shall see.sigpic"A FREE PEOPLE OUGHT NOT ONLY BE ARMED AND DISCIPLINED, BUT THEY SHOULD HAVE SUFFICIENT ARMS AND AMMUNITION TO MAINTAIN A STATUS OF INDEPENDENCE FROM ANY WHO MIGHT ATTEMPT TO ABUSE THEM, WHICH WOULD INCLUDE THEIR OWN GOVERNMENT."

The statement was dated on 2/20. The SD Sheriff made his statement that he wasn't going to appeal the court's decision on 2/24.
Can't really take for granted what was said there since news & decisions from the court ruling has been changing constantly & quickly.Comment

Tanaka is no longer in the Sheriff's dept. He is an announced candidate, but unless he gets elected, he has no say in what LASD does in regards to issuing CCW permits. It's up to the interim sheriff and his staff.Disclaimer: For all you know, I am just some dude on the internet. The advice I give is worth what you have paid for it!
