    Why carry?

Because when you live in Las Vegas, anything can and will happen.
Tonight, the bus I was working on as an Armed Security Officer on got shot at.
    No injuries.
Never saw or heard the shot. Just the impact on the window.
Didn't penetrate, and the fragments embedded in the glass point to a .22

      Glad no one was hurt!
My AR is 7.62x39, so that if/when we get invaded, I can shoot their ammo back at them!

What kind of bus needs a security guard? Are you transporting casino cash boxes or the public LV Metro?

Carry anywhere that doesn't have a police officer waving a metal detector at each person coming in, that includes those in less than favorable counties with less than understanding sheriffs.

Id take the misdemeanor over a eulogy.
                      See ya mid February!

On duty: Level 2 vest, OC spray, ASP baton, and G17 every day.
We do fare enforcement on the buses and keep the "undesirables" away from the bus stops.
If you ever come to Las Vegas and see what we have to put up with out on the residential routes (not so much on the Strip), you'd be armed too.

                          Always.
