Every other day I do a dry fire practice session. 60x (or more) 2 handed with trigger pulled and safety on (like it would be in real life). Aim at point, safety off and dry fire. Then about 12 x one handed each hand. That makes a little over 1,000/month.

Live fire once a month or more.

Much dry fire during the week to train for IDPA events.

Found out through dry fire that my rear site moves and needed some loctite. Also, RMRs collect a lot of dust.

I rather find these flaws during practice rather than during a situation.

That's the nice thing about country living! Target range just out the livingroom door!

The trick is pacing oneself so as not to burn through too much ammo.

as much as I possibly can, at a minimum once a month but usually I try for once a week.

Does everyone use snap caps with dry fire practice?

If you are dryfiring a lot, snap caps are a good investment.

I like using a chamber laser like Pink Rhino combined with an app that records shot placement. As a plus, I don't have to chase the snap caps around on the floor.

Daily, I am handling my gun right now. Practice drawing from holster at least 20-40 quality reps a day.

I practice with my CC guns every time I go to the range, which is about once a month. I practice drawing somewhat more than that.

I Don't Practice Anymore. Haha IDPA. I shot competitively for 20 years straight. Now I'm a professional personal assistant/driver for my kid. Last time I shot was the last time I requal my CCW.

Can I shoot low 2 second Smoke & Hope string with a carry gun? Not anymore. Can I do a draw to first shot in low 1 seconds? Nope, it's mid to high 1's now. I do still get made an example at the requals since my slow shooting is still better than majority of the people that carry.

For me the only thing I lose from not practicing or shooting for that matter, is speed. It's like riding a bike.

Once per week with my two CCW guns at various distances between 7 and 25 yards.

I’ll be real. Three or four range trips a year, and I usually get the urge to do dryfire with a mantis every couple of weeks.

Reloaded 20 rounds without powder and primer to make my own dummy rounds.

It's nice to have the real weight of rounds for dry fire since you feel the difference. Also helps practicing reload drills.

You just need to make sure you don't mix dummy rounds with live rounds. (Always lock away live rounds when dry firing.)
