    How often do you practice?

I know sometimes the smaller guns we carry aren?t the funnest to shoot when compared to some of our more expensive full size guns. God forbid you ever had to use the gun you?re carrying, but that small one is going to be the one.
I?ve recently made some changes/upgrades to my edc that makes it more fun to shoot and practice with at the range. Just wondering how often everyone shoots the gun they actually carry everyday.

I go through spurts. At minimum, I try for once a month and at least 50 rounds. Also, all the shots are drawn from my IWB. I want to make sure that I am comfortable about pulling it out as much as accuracy.

My goal is once a month. Sometimes twice. Last month I shot every week.

once a week, sometimes twice a week depending on if neighbors want to come by to shoot.

i try for 2x a month. i bring at least 1 of the defense guns, either the nightstand pistol or the closet shotgun and whatever im carrying that day. and then something else just for fun, which for the most part for me consists of other guns capable for self defense.

Usually 3 10-minute dry fire sessions per week and 2 live fire sessions per month, even when I'm on a cruise.

I try for at least twice a month but it’s been weekly lately. I try to make it fun, like draw and shoot a 1” target.

                You do, too?

Although mostly dry, I practice everyday... With a full-sized... But fortunately, my EDC has the same manual of arms.

That said, I did take my EDC, and in an AIWB setup, to the local shooting match. Except for the slide being milled for an optic and some grip tape, it's a stock Glock 26. Trigger + springs are stock OEM. No pinky/mag extensions, and was using factory ammo.

Even a sub-4" pistol is quite capable!

There was a time when I practiced anywhere from at least once to 3 times a week, depending on my schedule. This went on for about 4 years. I was also competing in numerous matches, about 6 or so every year.

I shot and learned a lot at the time. Enough to engrain some really important safety and shooting skills alike for a lifetime.

My lifestyle has changed a lot since then and months can go by without visiting the range. But for sure I know how to use my guns - that's because of all the time and effort I invested in it in the past. I just need to exercise my guns once in a while now. My skills and motions are always ready if ever needed.

More lately... Now that ammo is available and the inside range, I go to doesn't have crazies in it.

                      Weekdays early help a bit.

I have actually been wearing my vest as my concern about these gun waiving shooters.

I dry-fire my CCW far more than I live fire ..... I try to put 2 to 3 magazines through it (2 to 4 rounds per draw) when I get to the range, and I try to do that monthly.

Avg 1.5/week. Sometimes only 10 rds but every session is planned. For instance with 10 rds I can have 6 draws, 4 single shots and 3 two shots…I can do two to CM or two targets for transition practice, you can move during the draw etc. and then follow it up with some dry fire. You can accomplish draws, reholsters, reloads between the 2 shot strings, recoil control, movement.
I’ve always planned what I want to accomplish with my practice, I think it’s makes it more directed and I don’t waste ammo just emptying mags.
Not every session is 10 rds but every session has purpose.

Agreed. Plan each practice session, whether dry-fire or live.
