The California Sheriff's Association officially denounces SB 918

This is just the letter from San Bernardino County Sheriff Shannon Dicus but the other counties mimic this one.

Do you know what other counties have submitted a similar letter?

We should all chip in and buy him a cake or nachos or something.

Sheriff Barnes, Orange County, posted a fantastic note on Instagram denouncing SB918, and urging people to tell their legislators to vote no.
I assume he also sent a letter... I'll post if I see it.

If it's a "fundamental right" why do I need permission from anyone ?

The San Bernardino County Sheriffs have been very good about issuing CCW permits, and it is appreciated. Interestingly, there are only 11,000 permit holders in the county out of 2,163,000 residents.

The issue is that the Dem legislators in Sacramento see gun rights as a conservative (Rep) issue, and the Dems control the legislature and will click their heels and support anything Commidante Newsom spewd forth and fight against anything that they think is a conservative issue.

Many gun owning Dems think they support the 2A but actually undermine it by voting for Dem politicians and by allowing their Unions to spend member money to support gun hating, party following Dems that undermine the 2A.

Sheriff Dicus should send a letter to the tyrants in sacto and say "Go pound sand, I am instructing my department to Not Enforce"...

Can't make people apply for a permit.

For over two decades, I have told gun owning residents of San Bernardino County how easy it is to obtain a CCW permit and almost all of them have an excuse on why they haven't applied.

Most common excuses I hear are:
"I don't have the time to do it."
"I don't have the money to do it."
                          "I'll do it later."

Even if it was free with a 100% chance of issuance, people will still come up with an excuse not to obtain a carry permit.

Why would you want to encourage one of these indolent people to carry a loaded pistola or even to vote for that matter? People are where they need to be unless and until they get the fire in their bellies to act boldly and deliberately.
