    Optics for a carry gun

Only one of my guns has a plate for optics to be installed. It happens to be on my permit. Since my training will be basically starting from the beginning, perhaps it's time for this old dog to learn few new tricks.
    So yet another rookie question.
Does at least one of your carry guns have optics (red/green dot) on it. If yes, what brand, model and dot size and color?

No optics for me…yet. I do plan on incorporating one in, likely on a Glock or Sig model. Not thought that far ahead.

It might help knowing what RDS gun you have since it’s already on your permit. May help in getting specific answers.

Optic on my P365, I could hit a 3" group at 45 feet(15Y) and I am not even a good shooter. It's just so much easier shooting with optics.

The one with an optics plate is a Sig 320 AXG Classic. I've heard nothing but rave reviews from those with dots, especially green dots. For me, that seems like a lot to conceal. I haven't even bought a holster for the 320 yet. I suspect a holster thread might follow at some point. I've only recently started working with it.

I'm getting better with mine. I've been struggling with my grip on that little thing. Mine is a standard. If you have an optic on yours, is it the larger x/xl?

With the new option from Springfield to get a factory cut slide, I jumped on it and am super stoked w the result. Great way to get into your first optic. https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/....php?t=1809329

I'm much quicker to acquire target with Red Dots.

I'm a night sights on a Glock kinda guy. If I can't acquire and hit a human sized target with that, then it probably isn't enough of a threat to shoot. This just applies to my own life, not advice for anyone else's... Obviously use what works best for you.

Yes. Target acquisition and follow-up acquisition is faster than irons and any advantage is one I'm willing to take.

Had a few here and there. Removed them because I didn't want to depend on the battery (or anything electronic) on defensive guns. I have TruGlos on my Glocks and Shield which are adequate.
