Either the lady at the court advised you wrong or you misunderstood.

Traffic School doesn't turn a conviction into a dismissal. The point is still on your record (if it's a point offense). The only thing the traffic school does is prevent the violation from being shared with your insurance company, and other similar, low-level background checks, and the point from being calculated into cumulative point penalty calculations.

Your issuing agency background check will still show the violation. I've heard of some federal/state/local government background checks asking applicants about PARKING violations.

Also, because you're only eligible for Traffic School once every 18 months - by definition the court HAS to keep a record of the violation. It can't disappear.

Oh, missed the part about this being an Arizona ticket.

If a charge is DISMISSED in Arizona, it almost completely goes away. There's record of being pulled over, and getting issued a citation, but no points. They have to keep track of the violation for similar reasons of California.

However, in CA - traffic school mostly doesn't do anything as far as your driving record is concerned.

Also, you likely pulled your CA driving record. Arizona considers your charge dismissed. CA does not when you do TS.
