The caliber is listed on a CCW, along with the manufacturer and serial number. I assume you can't carry concealed a gun with a conversion barrel in place, say a 9mm on a gun listed as a 40 on your permit? Or is it legal?

You would need to have it listed on your permit in both calibers to be able to carry in both calibers.

If you're in a county that only lets you list 3 guns this will take up 2 slots.

In addition to the caliber listing issue, it depends on your issuing agency. Some do not allow any modifications beyond grips and sights.

Always preface any question here by stating who your issuing agency is. What may be possible for me, might not be possible for you.

Why?

I have never found a conversion barrel that is as reliable as a stock Glock.

It allows cheaper shooting with 9MM... it allows for some additional manipulations and malfunction drills...

In some counties, multiple calibers on the same gun are listed as one gun - the caliber section lists them side-by-side.

We don't know what gun OP is asking about. Some guns are specifically designed to be caliber changeable, such as a Sig P320.

Very cool! Thanks for the insight. I guess two calibers on one gun taking up two slots on the permit is not really the case everywhere then.

Thanks! Might check it out when time to renew. I'm in Kern County. I'm not sure I would seriously carry with a conversion barrel, but would be nice not to have to worry about switching before and after when just going out shooting.

FWIW, I had a gun with a caliber conversion and because the caliber did not match what was on the DOJ system, I could not even get it on my CCW.
