P.C. 22210 says that a leaded cane is illegal. Is there a certain weight of a cane that would trip this section against you?

      unnaturally weighted with lead.

When in doubt check for definition's, they are usually pretty explanatory.

And, non-leaded bits are 'generally prohibited weapons '-
        16590.

As used in this part, “generally prohibited weapon” means any of the following:

        ...

        (m) A leaded cane
        or
an instrument or weapon of the kind commonly known as a billy, blackjack, sandbag, sandclub, sap, or slungshot, as prohibited by Section 22210.
We know that wooden clubs or batons are included in "SAPS AND SIMILAR WEAPONS", since there is an exception to violation of 16580 with those
        22295.

        (a) Nothing in any provision listed in Section 16580 prohibits any police officer, special police officer, peace officer, or law enforcement officer from carrying any wooden club or baton.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

          Escalation of force is nice.

Lots of street urchins - pepper spray is nice
Would you rather be in punching range or be able to give a squirt or 3

If they continue after being sprayed... their intentions are clearer than just a freak screaming

Lots of good knowledge out there

IMO- I have used gel o/c and it is not effective compared to Fox Labs ACK, LLC 1.5 Ounce 2% OC 5.3-mm Flip Top Stream Pepper Spray which I have used and it worked well.

Glad to hear about the Fox. I carry it with me all the time in addition to my Glock and recently gave my 80 year old mother some to carry on her long walks
