    Evaporated Thread

    What happened to this thread?

Guys, In light of last weeks events, Id like to carry in church. Our church has armed security and I know one of the guys involved. I called him up...

Appears to have evaporated. I thought it was interesting.

    Evaporated Thread

Concealed carry means exactly that.. why notify them? Keep it concealed and none be wiser.

Why draw attention to something that is none of their business?

If they are the security for the church let them be the bullet catchers first.

Let them do their job. If they fail and something is going to happen to you then react. Otherwise do nothing..

Do the right thing and carry all the time.

      End of story.

Perhaps it was taken down because it might inadvertently disclose security arrangements of a particular church

              Chewy is correct.

The last post that was made (by a newbie at that) included quite a bit of sensitive information for a particular church. It didnt even sound like my church (I was OP). Might not have been enough to pinpoint any particular church, but no need to sprinkle information on the internet to allow others to get a handle on how some churches handle security. Unfriendlies read the web too. Discretion is important, especially in this section.

And, given the number of requests to divulge the church's name (thread posts and PMs), the last thing i wanted was a "guess the church" page.

So i had the mods remove the thread. It had served its purpose anyway. And, I appreciate all that responded.

              thanks gentlemen

I am pretty certain I know the church and your decision to have it removed was a good one. No, I am not going to even hint at which one I think it is.

It's safe to say most churches anymore are not soft targets.

Hopefully churches will no longer be soft targets. But complacency grows with time. To whoever they have in charge of security needs to remind and keep them on course.

That's a good one! You might as well have said after that Texas massacre, small rural towns will realize they aren't immune and folks will EDC.

Oops! (looking at Tehema Co) (And no, they don't have an excuse since their sheriff's office has readily issued CCWs for at least a decade that I know of.)

Thanks jks67ss396. I missed the post revealing sensitive information. Just as well. Hope all turns out well for your situation. Grace and peace.

Unfortunately, my girlfriend's church is held on a high school campus.
