Staycation

In a little over a week we're going to start our Staycation. On one of the days we are planning on taking the Metro Link into downtown and check out Olvera Street and go to Philippe's for lunch.

Is there anything listed about carrying on public transportation?

OP, here's some information which should prove useful....(Licensed concealed is concealed approved and legal.)

MetroLink Customer Code of Conduct (http://media.metro.net/about_us/ethi...t_customer.pdf). Page 10:

6-05-220 weapons
A. A weapon or instrument intended for use as a weapon shall not be discharged
or directed at a Metro facility or vehicle, or at a person or object in a Metro facility or vehicle.39
B. Entering a Metro facility or vehicle with a weapon or instrument intended for use as a weapon is prohibited.40 This provision does not apply to law enforcement or security personnel.

Footnote 40 refers the reader to CA PEN 171.7; https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/f...ctionNum=171.7.

171.7. (b) It is unlawful for any person to knowingly possess within any sterile area of a public transit facility any of the following, if the sterile area is posted with a statement providing reasonable notice that prosecution may result from possession of these items:
(1) Any firearm.

(c)(2) Paragraph (1) of subdivision (b) does not apply to or affect a person who is exempt from the prohibition against carrying a handgun pursuant to Section 25400 if the carrying of that handgun is in accordance with the terms and conditions of the exemption specified in Article 2 (commencing with Section 25450) of Chapter 2 of Division 5 of Title 4 of Part 6 or Sections 25615 to 25655, inclusive.

CA PEN 25655 says:

25655.
Section 25400 does not apply to, or affect, the carrying of a pistol, revolver, or other firearm capable of being concealed upon the person by a person who is authorized to carry that weapon in a concealed manner pursuant to Chapter 4 (commencing with Section 26150).

(If it improves your comfort, carrying copies of the above citations might help if one must discuss the issue with Metro cops.)
