I also have a PX4 but haven't carried it yet because (for me ) in the summer it is harder to conceal with just a t-shirt. I feel it prints too much so I am waiting until it gets cooler when I will be wearing heavier clothing. I may try a different holster for it and try to appendix carry since my alien gear is meant for 3 and 4 o'clock carry. Until then I carry my .40 Shield appendix with a minimalist holster, and it is invisible.

Both are carried in Black Arch iwb holsters.

If you never heard of Black Arch, I highly recommended them. Honest to God, when I'm carrying my Shield I forget sometime. It's really comfortable.

Did you run out of ammunition in that shootout? WTF?

Been carrying for about 25 years, so I have tried lots of stuff. Now I carry a M&P Shield in a Black Dog Concealment belt holster. No light. I think that as a non LEO, any use of the gun is gonna be very short range self protection. Your not gonna be looking for someone or arresting / chasing anyone. Think ATM robbery.

A very small light in your pocket would be nice, but what are you really gone use it for in a self defense situation?

Carry an extra mag, but practice, practice, practice, reloads. Both in battery and out of battery.

Practice drawing and shooting at like 3 yards. One handed, NOT two handed.

Started out with a Shield in 9, still think it's an absolutely fantastic EDC. Wanted less weight (yes, I felt the 5-ounce difference), so I switched to an alloy J-frame shortly after. I still carry that about 50% of the time. The other 50% is when concealment is top priority, and that's what I have a Sig P238 for.

I agree with you on this one. At least ideally. Generally I am carrying either a Glock 22 or a Glock 43. Both function exactly the same. I carried a 1911 for a number of years and loved it but I put a high value on having weapons that function the same so that under stress I don't forget to take a safety off, or forget to put one on, etc.

No... but the first idiot had a partner who was also moving into flanking position on the victim with the trunk open on his car. I didn't know what I had to face if it went south.

All I knew was I was very uncomfortable knowing I had to deal with it with 6+1 rounds of 380ACP and a 14 pound DA trigger. Confidence really plays a huge part in your response behavior.

Shield 9 and xd9 sc for daily carry.
But I'm really considering picking up a glock 19. Actually gonna look at one later today. I may end up buying it.
Anyone got any input on why a glock 19 will be much appreciated.
