I belive I have exceeded my 90 days but I'm not gonna scream about it either.

Gonna livescan next week with Ofc. Grant she said they only livescan on Thursdays.

If I get approved I guess I get another letter to take the class.

    My questions are

    1. If I take the class and pass do I have to make an appointment to drop off the targets/paperwork.

    2. Do I need to make an appointment to pick up the permit or at that point can u pick up as long as they are open?

Has anyone (that is a new applicant) received their permit in the last 30 days.
Why would the Sheriff want a copy of your DD214? What county do you live in?

Just in case you don't know, one reason for "delays" is information coming back from the Police Department/s where you've lived in the last "x" number of years. So, if you moved around a lot, say 5 different cities in x number of years, the Sheriff's Office will request information from 5 different jurisdictions. Not all 5 will be prompt, some will be slower than others. At least that's how it was explained to me a couple of years ago. Note: I don't know the value of "x".

Regarding the wording on the backside of the permits, is this new?

"Should the holder of this permit come to your attention as being in violation of any law, please confiscate this permit and return it to Solano County,,,,,,,,"

Any law? Traffic for say 35 in a 30? How literal is this? Anyone know. Just seems like it is wide open to interpretation

                  Thanks.

Its on mine, was issued in April. I was wondering the same thing about "violation of law"

Hi connman. Rather curious. Certainly don't plan on or intend to violate any law. But it's an interesting question. I know leo's who are not bothered by ccw's. Some who encourage and think it's great. I have also known some who would write you a parking ticket, then smile as they confiscated your permit and weapon.
When you consider that, then factor in how many leo' s have never seen a permit. Well just seems to create a lot of gray area.

We're theyou still issuing plastic when you got yours?

Yes, i have the plastic and paper. Im sure when i add another handgun, they will have me return the plastic, one less thing in my wallet.

Im curious as to what others thoughts are on this.

Like everyone else, I have the "paper permit" and the plastic ID card. I carry both to be safe and like many of you, am not going to intentionally put myself in a position to make the Sheriff pull my permit. I think most of you recall what's on that list when you filled out your applications of actions that will get your permit yanked.

If in doubt, please contact Kellie -- that's the whole reason she's available to us -- to answer questions and concerns.

I think I saw a training facility somewhere in solano county that helps with trying to obtain a ccw permit. Anyone know the name of that guy?

                              Thanks
