I think he was referring to a civil case. No matter how justified your shoot is and even if a criminal case wasn’t brought against you a civil case can be. I know of several instances where that was the case but fortunately/unfortunately they were usually settled out of court. That’s why having carry insurance like USCCA/CCWSafe or the like is a good idea, especially if you have a decent amount of assets.

Yes, done that as an expert witness with common sense logic, and proven facts. First, you need to have an actual self-defense attorney instead of some guy from local yelp. Second, not everyone is healthy and strong. I taught many disabled people including disabled war veterans and elderly people with limited mobilities. I am myself a disabled retiree due to on-duty-related injuries while serving the public. It is always nice to have a gun that works better for you and there is no law prohibiting you from using safe, reliable legally own guns. You just need to demonstrate that you have been proactively trained and maintained your skill and firearms.

My statements come from over 25 years of active teaching and working as LEO instructor and investigator status. Yes, there are many different thoughts on CCW carry and tactics, but how many of them actually went through the actual process as much as a professional investigator/trainer? Don't just believe what you see on Youtube or the web. Take classes from proven instructors and talk to the professionals who actually do CCW-related investigations and training. There are many CCW case laws available for you to review and learn from them as well.

Come on, bro. I won't be surprised if the guy hands me my card at the end of the interview and names his next kid after me. I'm very charming.

You are correct. But it is also true that an a-hole prosecutor could use the fact that you had a "modified gun" (sounds scary to a layperson juror) at trial against you.

It's a bit of an overstated fear though. If it's a good shoot and you have competent counsel, even the biggest jerk of a prosecutor trying to make an example of you will fail.

That said, don't put any dumb slogans on any guns that are not exclusively range toys. For example, if you carry a glock with a punisher logo on it, you are being real dumb.

I completely agree, however, if for example you send out your Beretta to Wilson Combat for a gunsmithing package that makes it better for carry, that shouldn't be used against you

Let them use what they can against you. They're going to use everything they can against you. But you should be confident when you draw your weapon that it's life and death, there shouldn't be an after thought.

I have faith in our American justice system, although not perfect, by far th best in the world. If I did something good by drawing my weapon, I have faith, with the right counsel, I will not be screwed.

You have a point there, but silly stuff like "Look Here Wait For Flash" should be avoided.

Done boys. Interview lasted like 10 minutes. Asked me for my paperwork he requested. Handed it to him. He asked if I made copies, which I did. He made the comment, "Finally, someone follows directions."

He asked me the list of questions asked to everyone. Then asked me to slightly revise my GC and email it to him. Told me I should be approved and instructed me to get my live scan and training.

Going to get live scan done right now and doing my training tomorrow.

Side note... there were about 6 other schlubs waiting for their interview when I left.
