Can I make a change to the CCW application at the time of interview? Add Firearm

I mailed in an application on July 30th. I just saw that the check has cashed as of a few days ago.

Can I make a change to the firearms listed on the application mailed in? Possibly at the time of the interview?

I only have full sized handguns, 2 of which I listed on the app (M&P/G17). I've been scrambling to pick up a more reasonable carry gun (Shield) via PPT before the interview.

I saw on the LASF CCW site that they will not allow modification of new firearms during the license duration. Only at renewal (2 years) can the firearms listed be changed.

We do not accept amendments to firearms (add or remove). If you wish to update your firearm/s, you must wait until the time of renewal. If a Name or Residence Address Change is required, complete the Amendment form. – lasd .org

Thanks in advance if anyone's had experience with this. Can't be too uncommon!

Any chance you have the person who interviewed you contact? Maybe email him and say something to the affect

"Just want to make sure you're not waiting on me for anything! Let me know, thanks! Kisses!"

he only provided the email for the ccw unit and his personal phone number.. So I called his personal phone number and left him a message.. Nothing back from him. I'll wait some more if I still don't hear back then i'll try emailing the ccw unit.. Although everyone says they don't reply.. Should I go to his office? lol... just typing that gave me the chills lol..

Don't be discouraged. My app was sent 4/9 and Livescan cleared 6/14. Got the training email yesterday.

I asked that question. Deputy said when you do your training, they register your firearms. That's what will matter and what will be on your license. So, you have a little more time to find a shield.

Thanks for the response. I've been non-existent on this forum for a couple of years so I appreciate the candid response. So, after reading the first post of Paladin's advice, I have two questions. I can't find LAC's color (red, yellow, green), and GC would pretty much eliminate me from consideration. I don't have anyone stalking me. I don't have a profession that puts me in harms way, and I don't believe stating that I fear for my life walking the streets of Los Angeles (even thought at times I do) will be sufficient.

My app was mailed to LASD on 8/2 and I just realized that I accidentally included a $30 personal check instead of a cashier’s check or money order.

Has anyone else made this same mistake and still had their application processed?

If not, what would be the proper way to resolve this? Hopefully I am not creating significant delays for myself…
