I figured the answer was in the forum somewhere, but honestly appreciate you giving me the straight answer. Thanks haha

Hi Chris1, we're happy to answer that question. During the CCW four hour practical training and qualification, we cover the basics of proper drawing, proper reholstering from concealment, as well as the fundamentals of marksmanship. We do several dry fire drills along with a practical live fire drill (all from concealment) before we do the qualification.

We are going to be offering the four hour CCW fundamentals block to anyone who wants to practice drawing from concealment on our website by the end of this week, and starting in January, we will be offering a complete eight hour course covering the same in much more detail.

Feel free to shoot us a private message if you have any questions!

Maybe. I would contact DOJ Applicant Information Services via email at Applicantinfoservices@doj.ca.gov

Meanwhile, you can read up on information in the following webpages and see if you fall into any categories that would delay your live scan.

The California Department of Justice (DOJ) provides an automated service for criminal history background checks that may be required as a condition of employment, licensing, certification, foreign adoptions or VISA/Immigration purposes. During the 2014 calendar year, the DOJ processed more than 2.1 million applicant fingerprint transactions. Eighty percent of the electronically submitted fingerprint checks are completed within three business days. Here is basic information for individuals needing to submit fingerprints to the DOJ for background checks.

The California Department of Justice (DOJ) is mandated to maintain the statewide criminal record repository for the State of California. In this capacity, sheriff, police and probation departments, district attorney offices, and courts submit arrest and corresponding disposition information. The DOJ uses this information to compile records of arrest and prosecution, known as “RAP sheets,” for individuals and disseminates the information for law enforcement and regulatory (employment and licensing) purposes.

The requirement from the County of San Mateo is 12 rounds each from the five, seven, and 10 yard lines. They only require that you hit the silhouette, not a particular A zone, B zone, etc. That is also the same requirements that we use as an outside vendor for our qual test. Each outside vendor may vary though.

Hopefully he isn’t up for a fight with the federal courts. So far, the vast majority of district court judges are following the letter and spirit of NYSRPA v Bruen. Hopefully federal appeals court judges will too.

FWIW Palo Alto PD, where Jonsen had been chief until recently, told me they do not issue CCWs. https://www.cityofpaloalto.org/Depar...tact-Directory

The race for Mayor of San Jose and Sheriff of Santa Clara County featured two candidates with years of experience working in the South Bay and two relatively new faces to the area.

I see. I remember seeing a post of someone having the permit in-hand about a month ago. And I think that was like a week or two before we saw posts of people getting their permits here in SMCO.

SF, SCC, ALCO, and COCO are horrible though.

Really? I thought Marin was diligently processing and issuing like San Mateo.
Just going off what I read in the email. I've only been tangentially following SF and SC, haven't looked into Marin or the East Bay.

As we updated you earlier this week, just in the past several days two counties that had been dragging their feet responded to CRPA's repeated warnings to implement processes compliant with the Bruen decision. Marin and, of course, San Francisco counties replied to CRPA to affirm that they have now begun to process CCW applications more expeditiously, without additional restrictions, tests, costs, or other bureaucratic delays.

It'd basically a " firearms eligibility check" just like the doj would do if you were to apply for a coe.
