I emailed cert on Saturday, didn't get an email on Monday, so I called Tuesday. Maybe I was jumping the gun, but I was polite and Jennifer was very helpful and scheduled me for Tuesday afternoon.

And yes, I think we should all send her cards and chocolates, she has been very helpful.

Jennifer is great and has helped out a bunch of people get squared away.

Thanks! I think the guys downstairs in the building where the permits are handed out knew what I was there for. Must be a steady stream of non-felon looking types going in and out pretty quick in an office that normally doesn't get a lot of foot traffic. One of the guards at the door sort of saluted me on the way out. I think the San Mateo County Sherrif's office is full of "gun guys."

For questions related to firearms, please contact the California Department of Justice, Bureau of Firearms, at (916) 210-2300 for assistance. For additional information regarding the Bureau of Firearms, please visit their web page at https://oag.ca.gov/firearms.

About as much as I expected !
I find that to be a perfect answer. It indicates the esso has gotten out of the gun rule business and will follow whatever is legal by DOJ. Beats the heck out of >50 Sheriff's each deciding what they think is a good idea and not- that would come with tremendous liability should they guess wrong.

I take a different approach than some instructors. I've taken many classes where they have you pay a range fee separately instead of including it in the total cost. I don't do that. At the range I bring tables so students have a place to stage gear. The San Leandro range only has 20 marked parking spots which isn't many for 28 lanes. So rather than hog most spots all day and inconvenience regular shooters I try to have my students double-park in one section of the parking lot to minimize how many spots we take up.

Little things like that may seem minor and most people probably don't even notice. But I think they improve the overall experience.
    Great, thanks!

I also took the course over the weekend from Robin@Gun Kraft and I was very impressed. I've taken many POST courses both Reserve & Advanced Officer training over the years and this class ranked right up there with the best I've taken. As previously stated, it's not all about shooting and how well you shoot (qualifying not withstanding). Robin's combination of traditional classroom teaching as well as holster exercises, really get you thinking should I (or can I) take action. Gun Kraft was fairly priced and conveniently located. You won't go wrong taking this course.
