Just received a call to schedule my interview.

    Recap:
1: Application Submission - 6/25/2022. - late in the evening
    2: Interview - 10/25/2022
    3: Livescan - TBD
    4: CCW Training - 16hr on Aug. 21st & 22nd
    5: Psych Eval - TBD
    6: ASCO Qualification - TBD
    7: CCW Issuance - TBD

Interview is 4 months from application date.
And yes I emailed pics of my safe. I know, but...... They asked specifically about that.

Anybody here considering insurance if you ever got a CCW or even for a home defense situation? Anyone have any experience using any of the companies that are around?
Your homeowners will go first if you blast someone. I don't know of a single garden variety insurance brand (AAA, State Farm, Farmers, etc.) that will underwrite a CCW liability policy all by itself with any meat on the bone. The CCW specialist carriers all seem to have a quick out so they can walk away (but they will gladly and easily take your money when it comes to paying their premium).

Tell me about it, it's not hard at all to weed out the bad people from the good when it comes to approving or denying applications, the fact that they are willing to make people wait more than a year is absolutely ridiculous. Just waiting until CRPA puts in that lawsuit.....

that would be an incredible, courageous act of civil disobedience.

Not saying that what they are doing is just by asking for pictures, however you have to decide what's more important, and not sending the pictures may delay them issuing (whenever that actually ends up happening).

I posed this question to a lawyer and that's essentially what I was told. Either comply and go along with their requests, or be prepared to fight it legally which most likely would mean filing your own lawsuit and being prepared to accept the added time and money that entails. For those reasons I took a picture of my safe, empty and cropped so nothing else in the room was seen and sent it in.

Again, I'm am in no way siding with the county here and think what they are doing is criminal, but also would prefer to be issued sooner than later and not do anything on my end that delays this arduous process even more. You have to decide what's more important to you.
Send a picture of a trigger lock since that is all that is legally required for safe storage

While the applications are now consistent across the state, each county has slightly different qualification criteria
Not quite right...... You can only have two guns listed on the permit. You need to petition for the second one once you qualify with the first. It then requires scoring higher with each of them than it would with a single gun. I suppose that you could change up what guns you choose to qualify with, but that all needs to be in place on paper before the range date. I think there was an additional charge for that as well.
