I suggest calling them on the telephone, get a human on the line, and ask to come in person to discuss why you have not had any communication about your application.

Why not? Stand up for yourself and don't expect someone else to do it for you. That's what I did. Otherwise you're just being a big wuss and bowing to them. If you're in the right and know what the rules are you should stand your ground, and can do all that while still being professional, polite, and respectful.

Not even sure if this will even be possible or accomplish anything to be honest, they may just give me the typical runaround and tell me, "we'll be reaching out to you dually, please don't come in as we cannot speed up the process for just you as we have an overload of applications"

I can stand my ground and be professional, but it’s always better to come prepared with facts and docs and save the prolonged discussion. I had not received any updates from Judea on the changes and she knew I was looking for two weapons, and Monday is a holiday. I’ve been trying not to push her as I know she is swamped. Thanks again for the info, looking forward to a turkey shoot on Tuesday.

Also have a further update - the County has agreed today to provide CRPA updates for March and April on the amount of permits issued (this was our condition for holding off on a lawsuit for now). If we see a good faith effort to process permit applications in the coming months so that the process speeds up, we'll hold off on litigation. Thus far, the new sheriff seems to be moving in the right direction.
Thanks to you, your staff, and attorneys for all of your efforts! We need to get them in line soon!

There is nothing in law stating that citizens are no longer eligible for a license to carry past a certain age. In theory, if you qualify, you can continue to have your license. Actual facts on the ground may vary by IA. My sense is that this is uncharted territory post-Bruen.

Yeah I agree that it is uncharted territory, the focus has been to be even able to get a permit in the first place.

Good news Alameda applicants. Now when you attend your training course your instructor can do your qualification as long as they have a range available that allows you to shoot from holster out to 25 yards.

Additionally, they are no longer limiting initial applicants to only one firearm, you can carry two. Adding to that they have removed the 90% qualification requirement if you were going to carry two. Just need 70% to pass on both.

Had our first Alameda trainee come through our class yesterday with these new rules and we were able to have him shoot the qualifier at the end of our class.
