They have the ability to streamline the process but yet they don't, there is 3 months left in the year and they need to give all of us good standing citizens our CCW's that we applied for.

Not a lawyer but I believe it is the following:

Cal. Penal Code section 26205 states:

“The licensing authority shall give written notice to the applicant indicating if the license under this article is approved or denied. The licensing authority shall give this notice within 90 days of the initial application for a new license or a license renewal, or 30 days after receipt of the applicant’s criminal background check from the Department of Justice, whichever is later. If the license is denied, the notice shall state which requirement was not satisfied.”

You will called for an interview middle of 2023 or maybe later than that", aren't they supposed to approve or deny within 30 days??? They seriously think they can tread over SCOTUS ruling and keep people waiting more than a year?
Thought it was within 90 days.

Sheriff Ahern made ACSO international news!

Ahern made Plummer proud! He’s made the SO the topic of international news!

Alameda County Sheriff's Office removed 47 deputies from law enforcement duties after it was revealed they received unsatisfactory psychological exam results

The 47 deputies represent 5 percent of the 1,000-member force

A spokesperson said retesting will begin in the next 'couple months,' and will be performed by an outside firm

A former deputy who was charged with murder reportedly failed his exam before he was hired on to the Sheriff's Office

Anonymous sources claim the exam process under current sheriff Gregory Ahern is flawed
A California sheriff's office has removed 47 deputies from law enforcement duties after unsatisfactory psychological exam results during the hiring process were revealed.

    Ahern has forged his legacy….

I would go down to the courthouse in Hayward they will have the forms and the clerks are very helpful just pull a number and wait about 10 to 30 mins.

I filed lots of stuff that form is not the right one from what I read.

And they have the form waiver for court fees as well it goes to a judge to approve last I've seen it done.

It's time for me to file a Writ of Mandate against the Alameda County Sheriff's Department. However, IANAL and want to make sure I am using the right form, have the right party, doing things right. I will by filing the court fee waiver as well as I think I qualify.

I am looking at this form:

But I don't know if it is the right one.

Perhaps this needs its own thread, so we can help each other in filing.

I think so too Nate. Strikes me as sort of a preemptive CYA move- the agency can point to the psych's determination if anything goes sideways, "not our fault, we followed the psych's recommendation".

Well since Ahern lost the primary in June, I'd speculate you might be on to something.

97 days until we find out what our new betters have up their sleeve.
