Yeah it's hanging up for me. Blank white page.

Anyone know if it's ok to start the online process for renewals early without all the required docs like the class within 30 days and recent bills? Can you log back in and upload those docs later?

Just applied today. Earliest available date was March 15, 2021. Looks like many hate Monday's as that was the most common day to book an appointment.

Even with the issue I'm having with the serial number on my favorite pistol I got approved about 10 minutes ago! It's been just over a month. I believe the delay has been because of the serial number faux pas Turner's did when I bought the pistol 10 years ago. They put the wrong s/n on the DROS or gave me the wrong pistol as the s/n's don't match. Fortunately I have a copy of the DROS!
every single time I buy a gun of any type I always verify the S/N against the DROS both at initial purchase and at pickup.

    Yes, this absolutely sucks.

I was gathering information from forum members so I could plan my renewal and my understanding that the training needed to be within 30 days of your permit expiration. Well, I guess this didn't really apply currently.

I took the renewal training class exactly 30 days from my permit expiration and submitted application the same day. I didn't expect to get an appointment a month after my permit expires.

For those who need to renewal, call the CCW office and turn in your application early to get the appointment slot.

Currently, they still working on expired permit on mid-June per the CCW clerk.

Ditto to all the praise for Kyle and Patrick and the class at DGM. They are knowledgeable and professional.

You still have to come in. Look at the SDSO CCW page: https://sdsheriff.net/licensing/ccw.html

Maybe this can help too. You can generate a crime report and pick say a 2 mile radius around your home for the last couple months. You can select only crimes that may require you to defend yourself.
Most people are surprised how much goes down close to home.
