For those that applied in late 2019 and early 2020, How long did it take for a processor to be assigned to your app? -
-
When I submitted my application they said they would contact my employer to verify employment (my GC had nothing to do with employment). I expressed concern over this since I work with a lot of snowflakes. Her response was that all they say is that they are from the licensing division - nothing more, nothing less. The investigator called me for some paperwork that they misplaced and told me he wasn't going to bother with the employment check. To my knowledge, nobody came by the house.Leave a comment:

In fact, one of my neighbors was asking me why an investigator talked to him whether he knows me and I physically live at my address.
I told the neighbor that I was interested in career in law enforcement (Sheriff Department).
Until this day, the neighbor kept asking when I will attend police academy. LOL..Leave a comment:

Didn't get a visit. They accepted my electric and water bills as proof of residency. I did have to make sure my name and address was on the bill.Leave a comment:

On my initial application, he stopped by and left a business card since I was not home. The fact that I called the number was taken as proof I live there. I don't believe he talked to any neighbors. This process was not present for my renewal since I have not changed addresses.
I find talking to the neighbors disturbing. I do not discuss my firearm ownership or activity with my neighbors. It's none of their business and could lead to problems given the strong progressive views in my area.Leave a comment:

I called back, he said that was just confirming my residency.

It’s happened, they just check residency is all. Though given rare reports of it here I don’t think it’s common at all.Leave a comment:

You guys ever hear about a home visit by the Sheriff's Department before receiving the carry license?
Saw an interesting post on r/caguns about it. For San Diego County, too.Leave a comment:

Well. there's room for two more at least, if that "restrictions" area budged down there would be more room.
