Had my appointment last week. Easy peasy.

I was expecting it to be more like an interview where I would have to justify to someone why I needed the ccw, and for them to delve into specifics of my GC statement.

Nope. Just an appointment similar to going to the dmv, but with much nicer employees.

Finally got my approval today! Just about 90 days from my livescan. In total the process took over a year but I applied right when covid first began and I’m sure that was a big contributor to the delay.

I just received another email that my appointment has been moved up to April 24th. It was April 15th then it was bumped to November, but then moved to April 24. Not complaining, just giving others an idea of possible scenarios if you were bumped. I originally booked my appointment in July of 2020.

Anyways, if you acquired the gun on later date but prior to your approval , you can qualify during your training and add it then.

As I mentioned on previous post, the ones that you qualified with will be the ones listed on training certificate and eventually on your permit; not necessarily what you listed on your application unless of course the ones on your app are the same as you qualified.

Got it. So I better head over to the "wanted" section on here and post an ad or two. I really want a Ruger LCP or whatever else is the smallest sub possible, so that I don't print during work (white collar)

90 days, right? Believe it or not, it was supposed to be 2 years until my appointment. Is the waiting after the appointment even worse?

Thanks everyone- I appreciate the feedback. The woman who emailed me DEFINITELY told me not to bring anything. I double checked...

I will print out my application and bring my license and passport just in case. An extra 10 mins on my end to be safe... thanks all for the warning.

I plan on *trying* to purchase a ruger LCP II but right now my only ccw-friendly firearm is a Springfield XD9 subcompact.

Do you all think I should list the gun just-in-case, even though I don’t have one yet? Also- I know this isn’t the right post, but any suggestions on a tiny California complaint subcompact (maybe in .380 since my XD is 9mm) would be very welcomed.

Seems to have changed. I had to bring in everything I submitted to Permitium. Be prepared for your picture and LiveScan. When I went last summer the girls behind the glass were VERY helpful; IIRC I dealt with Jessica.

I'm about 2.5 months post appointment just waiting patiently for an approval/denial email.

April will be the 1 year mark for me in this process.

Yeah, I think we are stuck with a legacy term that no longer is accurate on what is actually happening in San Diego county process.
