I just got off the phone with my instructor, Kyle Dau at Discount Gun Mart because I'm doing the same. If you are already one of his students its $25/page. If you are not already a student of his, its $50/page. I assume by "page" he means the SDSO training certificate which looks like it will hold 5 weapons on the page.

If you have planning emails with others that might be a good doc. I was able to dig back years setting up shooting trips with friends.

I did get another email asking me to provide an updated good cause statement focusing on my outdoor activities. They asked for photos and other documentation to support that lifestyle. I also had another appointment date change that is two days later than my scheduled appointment. I should have the first appointment completed for the end of April.

Did everyone's waiting period take close to 90 days after the appointment? Any sooner?

Also, has anyone been denied lately, or was anyone contacted for additional information based on the background check?

I don't think you can change it, but you can certainly add documentation; just add the new areas with whatever necessary documentation.

This gave me (and a friend who had his interview a week before me) the impression that the girls behind the glass did the approval and the deputy did the background check.

Once you get your approval get your training ASAP. Once you have a class setup, MAKE YOUR APPOINTMENT FOR ISSUANCE!! They say to wait which I did. There was a guy in my class that already had his appointment and picked up his permit a day or two after the class. I waited and had to wait 3 weeks for an appointment for issuance.
I dealt with a gentleman who is new there. Darren? David? I don't remember but he had a black moustache. He said virtually the same thing to me ("Sometime around 90 days, probably just about at the 90 day mark, you'll get your approval- wait, I mean, you'll likely get your approval, assuming nothing comes up on the background").

I think my good cause is solid because it got me bumped up almost 9 months (expedited CCW review due to imminent threat). The biggest concern I have is whether my age is too young for a CCW (mid 20's).

Thanks for the advice and insight! I have my fingers crossed and am hoping for the best.

Had my appointment today at 10:30. I wear a suit for work, so I showed up overdressed. Advice to those of you with appointments coming up- they take you to a backroom without fans or ventilation, so it's pretty warm. Very DMV-esque. Next time I will leave my jacket in the car.

The appointment itself was structured as follows:
-Go through application with a Sheriff staff member
-Remedy any errors (basically just write "none" on a few blank lines, initial and date)
-Livescan fingerprints and mugshot style photograph

The person who ran my prints said I was the longest it has ever taken, and I was still in and out within 35 minutes.

Now comes the 90 day wait! Wish me luck.
