Last question, I’m going to add a firearm to my permit, do I need to re-list all firearms on the new form or only the firearm I am adding?

He should follow the original process. Apply on line and get an appointment date. If his GC has not changed, he will most likely be approved, but he should not schedule his training until he is within 90 day of his appointment, because that training has a limited shelf life. When I renewed, it was during COVID and there was no interview, and no in person address check. The paperwork is all the same.Leave a comment:

Start Here:
There is a wealth of guidance and information. The basic GC standard in San Diego is you have to be able to prove there is something that puts you at greater risk than the average citizen. Emphasis on the word "prove". Any claim you make without some sort of proof is basically useless.Leave a comment:

Renewal question for a friend of mine.
He is coming up for his 90 day renewal timeframe soon and wanted to know how the process works. Is it the same as initial process as in reapply online and wait for approval to take the course or can he do it all at one time and wait for approval and issue appointment?Leave a comment:

Also, if I sell one of my firearms listed on CCW , do I need to get a new permit issued or can just wait until renewal time?Last edited by birdman81; 07-04-2021, 11:01 AM.Leave a comment:

My comment was a bit tongue-in-cheek. I believe the real reason is that the State of California, unless forced by law or a court decision, will not do ANYTHING to make it easier or more convenient for us mere peasants to carry a firearm. This is just one more part of the overall scheme.
They are probably already planning how to erect new obstacles and make things more difficult after we get a favorable ruling from SCOTUS in the current v. Corlett.Leave a comment:

It makes you question if and why it needs to be approved by the DOJ, when there are other counties in California that issue only the credit card size permit. How are these other counties able to issue those if the DOJ has not yet approved it?

Have you folks seen the new CCW cards that the San Diego Sheriff's office is issuing?!
basically the same size as driver's license (though the SDSO is waiting for the CA DOJ to approve the new cards); they are being issued buy need to be carried in addition to the old paper/folding permit unitl the state approves the modified card.Leave a comment:

I don't suppose there is any way to know what number you are in the count so far?Leave a comment:

At the moment it sounds like these apps are several SDSO employee's full time jobs.Leave a comment:
