Hi All-

Just got word that my application was approved. Today is day 85 since my application appointment. Looking forward to soon carrying responsibly and with respect while doing my small part to give a good name to legal gun owners/CCW holders.

Yes I can imagine so. Any CCW holder that has the privilege to walk around armed, should change and have the mindset to avoid confrontation at all costs and remember that they are only required to check themselves and loved ones. In a situation like this where you someone stealing from the store, it is definitely in any CCW holders best interest to turn and look the other way.

I am sure you will be fine in regards to not getting involved and avoiding all conflict unless you are in a life or death situation.

Where is SDCGO communicating this stuff? I only ever see general "gun control is bad" blog entries, and an occasional newsletter promoting the "Gun Prom" (which is competing for the most cringe-worthy event title ever.)

Edit : OK, it's a news item in the just-arrived newsletter. Fair enough.

I have a gut feeling it is going to be day 86. That is what I am projecting. Since you have not gotten in calls at all. I would say everything is in good order. A few of the folks that received their approval got it on day 86.

My buddy was able to snag a September 2021 appointment . His original appointment was February 2023 .

Almost every firearms class I've been too does a quick push on CCW insurance. Discount's was pretty quick and it's worth the $$ IMO...although something from another provider might be better...or not.

Way to go and congratulations. Hopefully those last 10 days for permit pickup are not the longest 10 days of your life. Thanks for sharing your Discount Gun Mart training experience. I will keep you posted on my status. I am at whopping 61 days, LOL.

Are you calling to setup your appointment to pick up your CCW?

Also send them and email. I did it that way and was scheduled for pick up within a day. I think I just got lucky but give it a shot.

So, I got approv ed, took my class, and now I have tried calling the past two days and I keep getting the voicemail. I left a message and I will see if I get a returned call.
