For renewals you need to take the 4 hour class within 90 days of expiration of your CCW and before you submit the renewal paperwork (they will ask for proof of your class). Since you can't renew until you are within 45 days from your CCW expiration date, you basically have 45 days to play with.

Hi all, have a family member who's going through the process right now. It's been 90 days exactly since their interview (11/22/2021) and still no word from SDSO. Anything for them to be concerned about?

This is not the first I have heard of this situation. Did they seem "accusatory" that you had not disclosed a ticket over 5 years old. Was there any indication why they thought this was relevant?

    CCW approval

looked at applying initially may 2021, original interview oct 2022 over a yr and half away. Did the well advised rechecking of interview appointment times and got it moved up to OCt 2021.
Oct 2021 interview went fairly smooth, they claimed I had some off-road excessive speed limit ticket but it was over 5yrs past so it was not within that 5 yr range of the question on the application. However Ive never had a offload vehicle during that time so theres no way I could've had that ticket, I told reviewing officer that either they had my name cross referenced with someone similar or the Mr Ticket Mitchell Medhey(Sp?) had a regular highway speeding ticket amended down to that offroad one, which I wish he would've let me know thats what the outcome was...

Anyways, waited the full 90days and I believe it was either exactly day 90 or day 91 I just got the email saying approved. No text or phone call to employer or business card at my residence. Just approval after the 90day wait.

Then the card just came in mail about another 3 weeks later.

Jeeesszzz, such a lengthly process and a test of patience really. If you wanted to use it nefariously then you did have plenty of time to cool down thats for sure!! Haha.

Good luck everyone, just be patient. Its all patience with this. And some common sense and logic applied to your good cause, also no negative background of course. Good luck everyone, be safe, stay dangerous as Reno Mays would say. LOL

Yeah I think that’s what I’m going to end up getting. I saw tactical toolbox talk about it on YouTube but I really like his holsters too but if I buy the aliengear I’m going to have to hold off for awhile before I get another holster.

Right now I’m focusing on maybe getting magwell for my Glock 19 today. Looks like only the Glockstore has a magwell that works with our stock magazine but it’s expensive just for that little thing but oh well. The Glock 19 handle is just a little too short.

My pinky won’t stop falling off when I’m shooting so I need it

You'll get an email and text for approval on Day 90/91 around late AM. I don't remember which day exactly, but I got approved last week.

I'd say that was pretty good service!

i had an interesting experience today with a sheriff, i was driving to a funeral (it's ok, she was like 100,000 years old, my grandma's sister) the fast lane was turning into a hov lane. there was a car blocking me in so i kicked it up real quick then hopped over 3 lanes. saw in the rearview sd sheriff follow me. oops!

he checked me out for a bit then took off! have to wonder if they saw i was ccw in the computer?? i was for sure i was gonna get stopped for that.

first traffic stop while carrying will have to wait =)
From what I was told when I got my last ticket in 2019, as long as I slowed down after passing someone I would have not received the ticket. Had you kept the higher pace, you may have had your 1st encounter

I don't think they have ready access to that in Southern California. He did probably know that you had monkeyed with your stock Sheild spring.
