WOW! This is great news for USI. I know Larry from Diablo Action Pistol and have been on his squad for Steel Challenge matches several times. Larry is smart, dedicated, enthusiastic and the right person to lead USI.

Yes. There is Steel Challenge at the Action Pistol Range at USI. Matches are usually the 2nd Sunday of the month (except no match next month), practices on Thursday and Saturdays. There's also a summer league happening now on Wednesdays. I'm a member of the Diablo Rod and Gun Club which hosts Diablo Action Pistol. Check out their website for more info/requirements. 100% support this! Like others have said, Larry is a great guy that I’ve had the pleasure of shooting with at DAP. One of the comments made by the range master at a recent steel challenge match was that Larry has not missed a single steel challenge practice since becoming an RO at the action pistol range. Speaks volumes about his dedication and enthusiasm to the sport and the facility.

Noticed that on practiscore they’re holding a “private” USPSA match this month. Not sure if it is a trial that they’re testing. That would be awesome if they brought USPSA to the action pistol range as a regular thing! Based on Larry’s letter, that seems to be what they’re working towards.

Diablo is testing for safety issues and for the most part demonstrating that USPSA can be shot effectively and safely once again. Reviewing SOPs and seeing if there are any areas that need addressing before the club begins running full sanctioned matches once again.

Its only been over 5 years I think since ones been held down there? Baby Steps... Safe and Purposeful is the goal.
