I didn't see your post until I got home after the election. This election was more like a big party than anything else very chaotic. I don't know how well streaming would work At least for this meeting, wall to wall people. The ballot was kind of sad all of the officers ran unopposed except for 5 guys who ran for four director slots which was the only real choice there was. Rank and file members of the individual clubs don't get to vote on USI officers only club presidents can do that. Rank and file can only vote for officers in the club to which they belong. It's no wonder this travesty has carried on as long as it has with a system like this. I know of one action pistol shooter who was there besides me the rest looked like paper punchers and shotgunners. I don't think we're voting our way out of this mess.

You arent going to able to vote your way out of this mess based on the system that is in place. You would be asking the group who has the most to lose to make changes that would harm them the most. Not sure what the bylaws allow but a forenic audit tracking all monies coming in and going out would at least clarify the problem but that would probably take a member (or group of members) to finance the cost. Then based on what is found force a management change thru a lawsuit based on mismanagement and/or misuse of USI funds. As horrible as it sounds it is very likely the only way to save the range.Comment

You would think there would be opposition given the place is about to go bankrupt.I didn't see your post until I got home after the election. Regrettable to lose a range in this area but if officers ran unopposed that must mean everyone is ok with the state of affairs.
Thank you for the updateComment

What you're talking about is difficult, complicated, and expensive. you need accountants, lawyers or a lawyer, and willing members to form a new leadership team should the effort be successful. On top of all that you have a court system that is very unfriendly and would prefer to see us gone. You arent going to able to vote your way out of this mess based on the system that is in place. Naz I'm not so sure that I would blame the membership for this. I kinda think that's the way they set it up. I don't know that they encourage anyone to run for these offices or if there is a process for that. Thats just speculation on my part. If you show up and that's all there is then there you go. I didn't know that nobody ran for office until I got there. What a great way to sustain multiple years of 35 or 40000.00 dollar a month losses. Who in there right mind would vote for that given a choice it's insane.Last edited by slamfire; 06-04-2022, 3:58 PM.Comment

I am not sure you understand how USI works with these statements.
DIABLO just had its elections. They are ONE vote of FIVE. Diablo has its requirements for running for office and those are posted on its website via its Bylaws and Constitution.
Id say everyone is OK with it that's in Diablo... and that's what this election was for. If you think Diablo is a problem or going along with the managements direction, you would be mistaken. Currently its 2 clubs vs 3 clubs and Diablo is in the 2 club side. The minority.
Other clubs will be having their own elections (or should be) this month other than Concord who has theirs in December.kcbrown -- The Constitution is not "the Supreme Law of the Land, except in the face of contradicting law which has not yet been overturned by the courts". Are we talking about bankruptcy or the loss of the range here? Seems pretty serious. Lets see 35000.00 x 12 = 420000.00 ya serious. I wonder why one or more of the clubs hasn't investigated this a little more closely can't think of anyone in a better position?Comment

Kindly share what this hope is based on since there has been no recent new information posted on this site or elsewhere.
Has the USI ad hoc financial committee made recommendations? Have they been implemented? Any other substantive changes other that a $200 - $250 annual fee?sigpic
