It would be a great LR cartridge. 7mm seems forgotten. 284win, 7mm-08 are great LR choices. 7mm has the highest BC of affordable bullets out there.

I have a bunch of amaxes too.
I was just going to use them on the Savage AICS 7mm mag project.

I like the idea of the .260 since all I have to do is change the barrel on my .308. The biggest benefit is that I have 6.5 bullets for another rifle! Wish one of y'all told me that .260 used a 6.5 bullet. I should have known that 6.5mm = .264 = .260

Before you ask... a 243 uses a 6mm bullet.

Randall I noticed the 162gr AMAX shoots very well, I shoot them with modestly high velocities, a tad over 3,000. Use them, if you dont want them I will take them. I jump my 7mm bullets, 175gr SMKS and the AMAX. I save those VLDS for new barrels.

OOHHH Moon woke me up today to ask if I wanted a bolt knob done. My new rifle is finished. QUICK>..

reason why i asked is i have an extra 700 action. dunno what i'm going to do with it. it's already trued.

probably just throw it in my safe.

hey anyone have an a5 that they can get their hands on? i need to figure my length of pull on it.

I got the annular cutter in for doing bolt knob conversions.

Much easier than using a boring head.

I have a 260 reamer too.

Before anyone asks, I also have a 7-08 and several versions of 308.
