New to forums. Based in ca

    Howdy everyone!

New to the forums, active on NYfirearms.com.

Just got based in Monterey, California, I'm active duty military. I'm a pro gun guy and need to get some home defense for my wife and kids, as well my wife would like to buy a handgun.

    Few questions.

How do I go about buying a pistol in Monterey?

Can I get a CC permit here.

Can I still buy long guns with a bullet button?

Is there any important information I should know before I go out and purchase a weapon?

Is there any storage laws for weapons here as well?

    Thanks for the help

Welcome. To purchase a pistol in ca you don't need HSC since you're exempt. Not all long gun need bullet button. CCW permit is depend on your local Sheriff decision.

10 days waiting period rule. 30 days rule on each purchase unless PPT. The only way to buy off rooster new gun is via SSE

SSE = is a way of buying a gun that isn't on the CA Roster of approved handguns.

1 new purchase per 30 days counts for handguns only.

                    Welcome to CA.

Thanks for the greetings and help everyone!

Hopefully self defense of myself and family is a valid reason to carry here in Monterey.
