Greetings fellow Calgunners! Purchased my 1st gun (while living in CA) about a month ago. Now I find myself buying up everything that the state is about to out-law/change before the end of the year. This is getting expensive!! Anyway I do have one question that may sound silly. When you purchase a gun (inside the state) is that gun automatically registered or is there still a process you must do to register it? And is registering it required? Thx

Hi HQ and welcome to Calguns and as you are finding out, a very expensive hobby
When you purchase a handgun in the state, it is registered to you.
Long guns, are not technically registered (at this time), and they do not need to be. Once DROS is passed and you pick up the weapon, it is yours and there is nothing else required of you. -
