Hello! You could call me Fox. (No, it has nothing to do with that news channel.)
I joined this forum about a month ago and lurked around for a while.

I never fired a gun before, and my family is very anti-gun.
I just turned 18 a few months ago, but I've been interested in guns for a long time. (I even played airsoft with my friends a few years back.)

As of today, I'm still thinking of what to get as my first gun.
I'll probably settle with a .22 since I've never dealt with recoil before.

Hey Fox ! Welcome. If you post your general area I'm sure some people near you would be glad to show you beginning firearm safety, operation, and marksmanship in general. We are here for you.

You don't need to worry about recoil as much as they would have you think as long as you have good training but most people love their .22s regardless so it is a good place to start. Nobody regrets buying a .22

If you are a healthy 18 y/o, recoil shouldn't be an issue for you but a 22 is a great choice because of the price and availability of ammo.
