    Front Sight Membership

I am considering, without taking any classes, buying a Front Sight Diamond membership. A little punch drunk with all the e-mails. I've seen prices from $15,000 to $250. I've heard there are always specials around, so wondering why anybody would pay regular price? Front Sight members, how much have you paid for your level of membership? Is $250 for diamond level too good to be true??? Seems like it. Thanks.

I believe they are worth it ONLY if you know you can make the trip to the facility for training. I am considering it but still cannot justify the travel involved for me as I am at least a 11 hour drive away (flying is not an option).

Have any FS questions, feel free to pm me. My wife and I have been members for a long time and have taken a majority of their courses, May wife has taken over 30 so far. Me, more. If you can make it there, a lifetime membership will more than pay for itself, if you can take advantage of it.

We live in the east bay SF and make the drive about twice a year and it seems less than 11 hours but you have never seen my wife drive.

We have taken the 4-day shotgun and the 4-day handgun twice. I have taken the 2-day handgun and do not recommed that class as I would spend the extra two days for the 4-day class. My wife has taken the 2-day empty hand. We will be taking the 4-day rifle in March.

The cost for hotels is reasonable with the Front Sight discounts so the overall cost is not that bad. If you do not want to spring for a membership check out the certificates floating around and try it out before you buy...that is what we did.

Lots of criticism about the training but it is good for the basics and you can decide wht method you want to use after you have the basics of sight picture, malfunction clearance and trigger control mastered. My wife shoots USPSA and does not use weaver stance when she competes.

Thanks everyone. Looking at the messages, both public and private, it seems nobody paid even close to regular price for the $15k diamond membership, or even more than $1,000 for it. I was curious to see what people paid for it. I guess to encourage me to finally get off my rear and buy the darn membership.

I checked around, and this seems to be the lowest I can find. Please do share any info if you know of better pricing. Thanks.

After reading the messages, I'm starting to get the feeling Front Sight is like a multi-level marketing scheme, but with somewhat decent return.
