We've discussed this and we each have our own take on why that might be. Not to mention that other threads have also 'looked' into it, including one by a guy who has been personal friends with Kestryll for, what, 20 years?

As long as the work is getting done, I personally don't care if we get a 'personal update' from him on the status of the work. If people want to engage in conspiracy theories, that's their problem.

His last reply to a thread was 2/24/25. His last activity was 3/14/25.

Assuming that Kestryll is signing in as Kestryll, I think that's sufficient to demonstrate he's still 'involved' and given the personal issues he's dealing with (as per his friend's post), not to mention that he posted the repairs were beyond his expertise, which is why he brought in DrJoneUSA and team, I'm willing to cut him some slack for a while longer.

it's a lot better than it was but... the transition still is sucking seems like children are trying there best to fix things but to no avail. 20% of the time does not cut it.

    1. The old forum worked all the time, this one work 20% of the time.
    2. The search engine sucks, we need the be able to search sub forums.
    3. What happened to the seller feedback?
We need to fix this. If calguns.net is all volunteer I say thank you.

We have 352,138 Members with 7,373 showing as Active. Maybe a go-fund-me could rase the needed money to pay a pro to address the issues.

The site is working better than it was just 3 or 4 months ago. Is it 100%? No. Is it only 20%? No. The sense I get, but I could be wrong, is some of it has to do with the device you're using; i.e., the site doesn't seem to be universally playing well, yet, with all devices and all browsers.

The search engine is working 'better' than it was after the changes; but, it still has issues. However, it depends on what you're trying to accomplish as to how successful your searches will be. There are some work arounds which have been posted, but I don't think anyone, including Kestryll, is entirely happy, yet. It's just a guess, but I would think the search is something being worked on and many of us assume that some of the more 'protracted' times when the site can't be reached is when the work is being done.

If by 'seller feedback,' you mean iTrader, you might see my post... Here.

The last word we saw was that the site fixes were beyond Kestryll's ability to handle and he has allowed DrJonesUSA and his team access. Unfortunately, we found the update saying they were only working on it part time on another site and there is some... 'sensitivity'... to linking to anything in relation to that site as many members, both here and on that site, feel it is a direct competitor to this one; not to mention the self-described 'guerilla marketing' campaign that site's owner engaged in on this site. (That individual has since 'scrubbed' the majority of his posts from this site.)

There are children running better sites all over the web.
I disagree. The site works almost always for me daily. Occasionally its loading slow, but almost always works.

Been able to access early mornings, Fri evenings and Saturdays, plus whenever the site owner is around to manually do something on the backend (site available times align with non working hours).
