hey all,

just registered...pretty green as far as noobs go with firearms...

im gonna be picking up a remington 700 sps with leupold vx ii scope tomorrow...any advice with it?

for the scope to rifle, is all i need are the mounting rings or do i need a rail/base plate or anything else too?...TIA

Welcome to CalGuns...take that rifle and get to a range. Look around there should be a range day shoot happening near you.

WRT to your new rifle, clean the bore before firing, make sure that your gear for your first range trip incules both earplugs and muffs (you'll thank me) and double check your ammo to make sure you're firing the correct ammo through the piece.

depending on what use you intend to put the rifle too, you may consider buying a spotting scope and benchrest.

Get into reloading, it's much less expensive and much more satisfying to roll your own.
