So I have a couple of questions for ya'll and I am not sure which board to post them on. If you can advise I will make sure I post them in the appropriate boards.

Q1: Can anyone recommend a few good places for appraisals in the Bay Area?
    Unsure Sorry

Q2: What is the best way to transport the guns when I am driving to an appraiser? I am not sure what the laws are in California. Is a cardboard box in my trunk sufficient?
Unloaded in cardboard box in trunk is sufficient. Trunks count as a locked container although glove boxes do not. Cardboard boxes should work to fufill the new "fully enclosed" law See more here: http://wiki.calgunsfoundation.org/Transporting

Q3: If I take photos of the guns and type up all the details is it possible to get an appraisal online?
Wouldn't be official but we have some very knowledgeable members here that could give you pretty good appraisals for free. Please give photos of each and mention any and all markings found. If they are older guns then the C&R forum might be your best bet

Q4: If we choose to store them in the Bay Area or in Los Angeles, are there companies that offer secure storage for a reasonable price that anyone can recommend?
    Unsure sorry

Q5: If we choose to sell them, which is the better place to get a good price, Los Angeles or the Bay Area.
Both should be about the same
Thanks in advance for instructions on where to post.

      Hi All!

Just retired from our local police department after 33 years of service. 8 of those as the Department Rangemaster.

      Life member NRA and CRPA

Recently came into possession of a few samples of legendary shooter, teacher and gunsmith F. Bob Chow's work. Of greater fun was spending time, albeit too short, chatting with he and his wife a few years before their passing. What a cute couple!

Sharing my love of shooting with novice friends. One who is still recovering from a stroke. I am trying to see if basic bullseye shooting can enhance the reconnecting of synapsis of the brain.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

And to everyone on the list - a Very Happy Thanksgiving!

      Rod

          Hi. Newbie Here.

Thanks Chaos47! Really appreciate the help. Do you have any guidance for me on which boards to post my questions on? Specifically Q1.

            Retread!

I joined CalGuns about a year and a half ago (March 2012), but misspelled "MountainMike"! I GOT the name I misspelled (MoutainMike) and for the longest time could not figure out "why" I could not sign-in again.

Now I have another name, and want to "merge" the old name with the new name (MountainMike7) and carry on.

Oh yeah, Wal-Mart sold me 300 rounds of .22 LR ammo today - first .22 LR I have seen in over a year at a reasonable price, including online retailers, too!

I hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving, too.

            Mike

I'm new to Calguns. I'm from San Diego and enjoy shooting and hunting. I usually shoot at at Lemon Grove Rod & Gun Club in Alpine or out at the desert near Ocotillo.

Thanks for the welcome! I'm excited to join in on all the information and advice the forums have to offer. I am currently looking for a gunsmith in my area. I have a Winchester model 70 (circa 1958) in 30-06 cal that needs some magazine work. Cheers!

Hey all, glad to be here. I am just starting to get back into shooting again. My parents have been sillouette shooters for as long as i can remember and i did it for a while also but lost interest when i learned about girls lol.Well now i have children of my own and am teaching them about gun safety and laws and thought this forum would be a great place to get info.I am also interested in learning about other types of shooting comps or activities llike 3gun or anything of that nature. Meeting new people/families to play with would be great too =)

                          New to this site!

Hello everyone. I've been reading threads from this site for a few years but finally decided to join. I have a few different weapons, ranging from shotguns and rifles to revolvers. I look forward to learning and sharing more about our liberties with weapons.

                              New here from Bakersfield.

I'm a hardcore Striper fisherman in the warmer months, plinker/light hunter in the cooler months.

Stumbled upon a cheap lower AR from neighbor and found the site looking for uppers, and or upper advice.

Thanks and great site here.. Way more strict on member behavior than the fishing sites! LOL
