Welcome aboard guys
The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson (quoting 18th century criminologist Cesare Beccaria)"Comment

Adding a vendor and posting to commercial sales.
We are a gun part company that sells to CA a lot. We want to be added as a vendor and also post to commercial sales. Cannot figure out how to do either. Cannot anyone shed some light and help us out?

Getting back into shooting after a very long hiatus. Been to a couple local ranges, trying to shake off a lot of heavy duty rust. Mostly shot revolver and now getting into semi autos. Just about to pull the trigger on a Glock 22 or 23. I like this gun, in particular, because it can cheaply and easily be converted to shoot 9 mm, if I want to and I know I'll want to.
I used to reload years ago. Sold all the old gear, but will probably be getting back into that aspect of the hobby. I'm pretty intrigued by the Lee Classic 4 hole turret. Looks like a pretty solid reloader to get me started.
Loving what I'm seeing in this site. I've only scratched the surface and looking forward to all the info I can glean. I will probably be looking for safe off the grid areas to go and shoot for free/cheap.

New to the forum
Hi all, Long time duck hunter looking to buy a new shotgun so I thought I would register and ask for suggestions on a store in the easy bay. The last gun I bought was from Traders in San leandro
Looking for a Beretta A-300 and would rather support a local shop rather than a big chain if they have Semi-reasonable prices. I guess I should post this in the shotgun section too
Thanks for the great site! So much info I will be reading for awhileComment

Howdy.
Just thought I'd pop in here and introduce myself. I'm military and will soon be getting stationed in Monterey for a while. I have an HK45C and Mossberg 500 right now. Just trying to figure out how to keep it legal and maybe see if it'd be possible to get my CCW/CPL. I've lived in Monterey once before but I didn't have to worry about my guns then so I'm pretty new to all the crazy Cali laws.Comment

Welcome aboard. First off thanks for your service. I also own a savage in 30-06 I use for big game hunting and it's a great rifle. Savage's right out of the box are a good accurate gun. The glock 17 is also a great handgun built to take a lickin and keep on tickin. I own a g22c and have thousands of rounds through it with not a single malfunction. Throw a post up in the hunting and fishing section with whatever questions you have and you'll get your answers there. I can't help you with hunting in SoCal since I'm up in NorCal.hey everybody, i havent done anything on here since i signed up, so i guess its time to start. im a young marine vet and now make parts for the apaches. i am finally starting to get into hunting this season and could always use some good pointers for how, where, what, and all that good stuff about hunting in so cal. i own a savage 111 and im purchasing a glock 17 this weekend. and im tryin to get a mossberg mvp predator .308 next. so if you have any tips or think i need to know anything about either of those, anything would be appreciated. thanks everybodyThe laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. hey TruEdge, thanks man. my savage is a 30-06 and its great. i made a shot at just over 3/4 of a mile early this spring. only shot ive taken over 500 yards with it hahaha. i probably got lucky more than anything hitting it. that was with the stock bushnell scope that came with it, prone w/ 9-12" bipod. and a glock has always been the gun ive wanted since i was a little kid, and here i am at 26, finally fulfilling at least one of my childhood dreams hahahahaWelcome aboard. Good for you man. Long range shooting is a kick in the *** and is what I practice most.hey TruEdge, thanks man. my savage is a 30-06 and its great. i made a shot at just over 3/4 of a mile early this spring. only shot ive taken over 500 yards with it hahaha. i probably got lucky more than anything hitting it. that was with the stock bushnell scope that came with it, prone w/ 9-12" bipod. and a glock has always been the gun ive wanted since i was a little kid, and here i am at 26, finally fulfilling at least one of my childhood dreams hahahaha
I actually ditched the scope that came on mine and sold it to a friend for his .22. I ended up putting a Leupold VX-2 on the 06 and really like it. I just didn't feel comfortable with the cheaper scope they put on these packages for when I'm out hunting.
I was actually thinking about throwing a bipod on mine too but wasn't sure which I could use that would be the right length for prone and sitting positions. How's that 9-12 working for you?
I always wanted a glock as well and a beretta 92fs Inox early 90's Italian version and now I have both
. I'm sure you have plenty of experience with a beretta in the military.

yeah getting a new scope is next on the agenda. the only issue ive had with my savage, isnt even the rifles fault. the scope rings that come with it are garbage and like to loosen up in my case. my friend had the same issue with his until he replaced them. as for the bipod, its great for prone. the 9-12 gives you a lot of room to move around for a better shot. occasionally (rarely but sometimes it happens) i feel like the 9 is even too tall. just depends on the elevation of the target. so as long as you arent shooting too far up to hit your target its great.Good for you man. That's funny you say that about the scope rings because my savage had the same issue. My buddy actually won it at a raffle and he already had a 30-06 so he sold it to me. Before I even shot it I noticed the scope had slid all the way back in the rings because you could see where it was before from a wear mark. I shot it once and it shot like garbage for me. I immediately took it off, sold it, and bought the leupold vx-2. I also bought the leupold bases and rings to go with it. Took it back out and was putting awesome hits on the target. Took it home painted it and took it out last season deer hunting. When I took it apart to paint it I sanded down the inside of the forearm as well because the barrel was touching on one side and I wanted it free floated. Here she is....and yes my bench is a messyeah getting a new scope is next on the agenda. the only issue ive had with my savage, isnt even the rifles fault. the scope rings that come with it are garbage and like to loosen up in my case. my friend had the same issue with his until he replaced them. as for the bipod, its great for prone. the 9-12 gives you a lot of room to move around for a better shot. occasionally (rarely but sometimes it happens) i feel like the 9 is even too tall. just depends on the elevation of the target. so as long as you arent shooting too far up to hit your target its great.
