Been registered for a while now, but building my first gun soon (AR-15) and the recent spate of irrational bills has prompted me to introduce myself. My username is actually from a book by William Gibson, I'm 20 years old, and although generally somewhat liberal I have no political allegiance other than "disgusted resignation".
I believe the only hope we have for preserving gun rights here are youth like me raised on video games, where guns were our constant companions, and toning down the hostility towards non-rural, non right-wing demographics (after all, nothing scares the big bad gov't more than armed minorities).
For these reasons and others, I don't support the NRA, and I'm loath to vote Republican (or even Libertarian- read Snow Crash for a combined cautionary tale and helluva good time).
I don't shoot nearly as much as I'd like, but I've been to the range a few times, and I grew up with my dad teaching me trigger and muzzle discipline on Nerf guns.

Hello there. I finally joined after being told by all my friends too.

I like guns (duh), archery, Cars, hunting, beer, and other stuff. I've been lurking through some old thread of places to shoot long distance. I just picked up a new .308 that I plan on shooting coyotes, deer, and targets with.

Hello everyone! I am new here and I came to the site after some friends and I were discussing firearms over some work. I am just starting to put my firearms collection together (already own a Mosin, a 357 snubbie, a couple of 22's, etc) and they told me this was a great place to learn gun smithing and custom builds. Right now I am pouring through the mosin trying to get a scope on it. I also want to build up an 80% AR lower and a couple of 80% AK lowers... I tend to like Soviet firearms.

Anyway glad to be here, hope to get out shooting and modding up the firearms with you all soon.

My name is Ben, I am a bit young, but hopefully experience will come with time. In my desperate attempt to seek people like me and google's magic, I came across this wonderful community. Here i can read related posts about the nonsensical and tyrant politics that occur in CA, but I get the feel of comfort that I am not the only one feeling this way.

As a young person, I would like to learn all about the things that made us ( human beings in general) be the way we are today in society and weapons play a huge role in our society and I believe we should protect that; by passing laws that will prohibit future generation's heritage, we set a course of very worrisome event's that the future generations would have to deal with.

I have been in this forum for about a couple of months, and i have had a great time reading all the things that has interested me. Also, I have bought a couple of Items from the awesome marketplace. I believe that the free trade also plays a great deal of importance in our society and Calguns demonstrates this very well.

On this short period, I have learned that guns is just a tool, like any other, its purposes are left to the person who uses them. I am a big fan of SHTF Scenario, and i believe that when society does break down ( although improbable in my lifetime), I want to be prepared and have my descendants prepared and well taken care of.

I am an aspiring aerospace engineer, and i like my maths and physics. I like sciences in general and have a grate sense of enjoyment of being alive and sharing my enjoyment of life with others.

Finally, I would like to put out there that I will not be a very prominent poster,
but I will be an avid reader of the things posted here. and will post when I believe that what i have to say is Important.

I have been a member for a few months, and I know I've had some private correspondence, but I thought I'd introduce myself. I have 2 modern handguns, a Ruger P95 and a GP100, and I have 2 black powder reovlvers, Remington New Army 1858 replicas, both by Pietta. I also have a Remington 870. I belong to the NRA and also Twin Sisters Gun Club in Fairfield, and one reason I'm here today is that recent SNAFU with the SR22 going off the California Roster of Approved Handguns. What gives there?!?

Stumbled onto this site randomly, will probably stay as a lurker for some time.

I'm an IT professional in the San Francisco Bay Area who shot 22LR for many years in the summer fairs [remember when 4-H included shooting?] looking to get back into target practice and competitions. I have also recently been interested in hunting.

I'm sure as I browse this awesome site I will find lots of great info on both subjects. Thanks for this resource!
