Calguns Layout Changes/Updates

I'm curious about what happens when an ad has both "handguns" and "long guns" for sale in the same thread?? While I was searching in the old style I might see a long gun that would change why I was looking in the first place, Happened a lot to me, LOL!

in the market place can there be a WTB that's solely directed to Dealers? say there's a gun a want. but I want to ask a SoCal dealer! I doubt they check WTB
or even an online dealer

I would suggest when you are fine tuning to finally delete 'san jose' under northern california - since SJ conversation is part of the Bay Area group and SJ is locked so no one can post, its just sitting there empty.

Lile the change but took me a minute to figure out all old posts stayed in long gun section. What about all handguns currently posted in long gun forum, wont newbies miss these? Can I re-post in hand gun forum? Thanks.

I like the seperation...cool changes Kesryll.....magic line in my line of work..sales...has pretty much always been Montery and Fresno up Northen Cal....any cities just south of there are to small a population to make a big an impact....to all those who are thinking it yes the line is low but best break in population and distance...beverage territories...

LOL, that's not how off topic sections on forums work. OT filters the crap out of the rest of the sections(Kestryll even admitted that, multiple times now) it'd mean cleaning up a bunch of off topic nonsense from elsewhere increasing moderator workload or issuing bans for people continually posting OT threads.

As much as I like the idea of splitting the Marketplace I'm not sure I'm happy with the Long Gun/Handgun split.
There are several threads that have both a handgun and a long gun, what happens to them and do we make/allow multiple threads per user one in each forum?

I need to think about this a bit, as difficult as it is I think a North/South split might be better in the long run.

I can see it working one of two ways:
A stated line, if you're above Fresno it's Nor cal, below Fresno it's So Cal.
Or a seller based option, if you consider where you live So Cal post it in that forum, same for Nor Cal Calgunners.

I'd like a seller based option on deciding locality, I know I travel quite a bit due to work and have sold on trips.

The majority should be able to work out on the Fresno/Lemoore split line, they are called the Central Valley region; and have people agree on not reporting threads that may seem geographically "misplaced"

For anyone complaining about missing out on deals now, so long as the advanced search feature allows for searching in multiple subforums I don't see why that would be an issue.
