NorCal WTS/WTB Forum

I think we need a WTS / WTB sub-forums for NorCal. This idea is for member sales only, not for vendors.

I see lots of good things for sale in SoCal, but it's impossible, if people won't ship. The activity in WTS/WTB in NorCal is relatively low but significant, so I don't think it will be a problem.

For instance, I want to buy an new/used Ruger Mini-14, 5801 series Ranch Rifle and sell a couple other guns. Five Ruger mini-14's have been sold in Socal in about the last week. I would have bought one of those but can't just whip down to San Diego to do it. It's also a huge drag to wade through all the things I can't have 'cause I can't get to them. Another Sacramento CalGunner has two rifles that will be hard to sell to the SoCal gang for the same reason.

Can we add a NorCal Section to the existing WTS/WTB? Or add a WTB/WTS in the NorCal Forum?

I think doing this somehow will be a real service to the NorCal members.

So what do we think? Do-able?

I have seen Marketplace/classified forums that have a Prefix setting. Maybe one for county would work here. It lets you filter you views by county, I.E. Orange County, Kern County...
I also wouldn't mind a separate Long gun Hand gun marketplace.

I was just thinking about something like that earlier. For now, I search in the Private Firearms Sales section using these tags (I save them in Notepad so I don't have to type 'em all up every time):

lincoln, folsom, rocklin, roseville, sac, sacramento, loomis, citrus heights, fair oaks, north highlands,
foothill farms, rio linda, orangevale, rancho cordova, marysville, penryn, auburn, sheridan, wheatland,
ostrom, olivehurst, newcastle, kilaga, chico, placer county, placer (...etc)

Yields the same effect as a Nor Cal-only section would, except it does filter out those few elusive Southern Californiods who are willing to ship.

Absolutely agree. It has been tasking sifting through all the marketplace threads just to try find the ones more local. The sheer volume of SoCal threads in comparison to NorCal is quite pathetic.

This is a must have! Lots of wasted time sifting through socal ads and I agree the socal activity is a multiple of the norcal buy/sell activity.

+1 I would like to see sale split up as well. And if we could somehow click fields to sort sales that would be awesome too. I'm in the market for a 9mm, not hundreds of 1k lowers.

Nor Cal section should only include the State of Jefferson.

I definitely support this.

Also think we should not be letting people with under 10 posts sell stuff, I suspect there to be a lot of people creating second accounts just to sell with.

Both of these would cut down on the amount of stuff to surf through, and some of the shady-ness of late.
