Miami Vice TV Show, This is the very first example of proper gun handling I've ever seen filmed. Didn't notice it when it first aired, but was really excited to rediscover this scene many years later when watching a rerun.

if ur worried about an avatar of a guy holding a gun depicting"illegal use of a firearm", wow, just wow dude... the only thing they shouldnt have (sadly) is nudity. u can have a picture of someone getting their head blown off who give two squirts of piss its a picture most likely from a film. A FILM.

i love my avitar. and it shows what i consider to be a black radical. i am not black, or a radical in my views, but i like the words "by any means necessary" and they motivate me.

He's not doing a tactical reload. He's clearing the firearm and ditching it. So when he's half way around the block he doesn't get caught with the firearm he just used to kill a Fed on him. He doesn't just drop it while loaded for both traditional safety reasons (you never just drop a loaded gun on the ground especially an SOA with the hammer cocked back) and job specific safety reasons ( somebody could pick it up and shoot him with it while he is making his get away).

What I like about that scene is they show him quick draw the weapon with the right stance, grip, etc. They show him fire a controlled pair, confirm the target falls, quick glance side to side to snap himself out of the tunnel vision and check for more hostiles (in this case Feds) then confirm again the target is down. That is exactly how it is supposed to be done (though these days we scan 360 degress after our quick look from side to side). Back when this was filmed, NOBODY was showing how to do it right. It was all Hollywood myth and no realism. So that episode of Miami Vice was WAY ahead of its time.

The clearing and ditching the firearm and wearing rubber gloves...well, he's a bad guy. If I were him I would wait until I was about to round the corner before ditching the firearm. Like the old Indian chief once said "Where there is one blue coat there are more blue coats." Police will be drawn to the shots. While still within sight of the dead body, I want to be armed. I would also want the firearm on me so I could put one in the Fed's ocular cavity as I walked passed him. After all, he just saw my face. I don't want him pulling through. Just before leaving visual distance of the body, then I would quickly clear and drop the firearm. Then again I am not a bad guy so I wouldn't do any of that. Just saying, the tactics could have been a touch more on the brutal side to be 100% realistic. But this was the 80s, so this scene is pretty damn remarkable. If it had been any more realistic it would probably not been allowed to air.
