At some point you have to say so what. Political correctness is fine in moderation. But it can quickly become overkill.
I would much rather that depiction than say an avatar of TJ Hooker improperly holding a firearm pointed up next to his head with his finger on the trigger. TJ Hooker might be political correct, but the message that picture sends about firearms safety has and will continue to get people killed.
If the "criminal depiction" gets the younger generation to watch a film that demonstrates how to properly use a firearm, then I say is far better for the gun owning public than a "lawful but unsafe" depiction we get from Hollywood on a routine basis.
The two best examples of proper firearms techniques are both "criminal" characters in film. As far as I am concerned they are gossple and should be force fed to every gun owner in the country morning, noon and night.
Collateral 2004 (Tom Cruise gets it 100% right, just about every other character in the film gets it 100% wrong)
(Fixed it)
Miami Vice TV Show, This is the very first example of proper gun handling I've ever seen filmed. Didn't notice it when it first aired, but was really excited to rediscover this scene many years later when watching a rerun.
