Slow Speed

370,000 members here. If we all send a dollar, can we get this fixed? That should buy some high-speed servers?

It's been slow for a while now, but tonight it's 10 minute page loads after 5 refreshes.

7 - 10 tries just to be able to log on. About 4 - 5 tries to make a post because I get booted off for being timed out due to slow Calguns' site Speeds.

I just don't understand...

This site has become the most annoying, slowest, moderators can't seem to do anything about it PIA. Takes multiple tries and minutes to log on; same with opening posts, etc.

I support the thankless job of admin for CALGUNS. I support commerce between members. I contribute to threads and create shares.

I can no longer stand this site being run like the State of CA. Why can't log on and speed be like every other site on the planet?

I'm a forum member on many just like CALGUNS with ZERO problems ever. This place is just, well enough of my rant...

Calguns seems to be on a path to self destruction. How many potential members are driven away with the never ending dial up loading speeds?

As other websites progress, Calguns regresses to a state not encountered in twenty years.

I?ve been coming back almost every day hoping things will get back to normal again, but I?m finally reaching the point that I think it?s simply not going to change. And such is the pity, this used to be one of my favorite places in the entirety of the web.

So what sites are you guys going to?... I browse AZGO every now & then, but it's uneventful... ARFCCOM layout sux to me, it's annoying to navigate that site... are there others worthwhile?

I literally have ten Calguns tabs open at all times in order to have loading in the background and allow completing other tasks.

I think with "CGN Contributor - Lifetime" under your name that gives you the liberty to say any damned thing you want.

The site's unworkable. if things don't get fixed soon it won't survive an exodus. People will move on and not come back, which many CA gun owner are moving out of CA and leave anything CA behind.

I won't abandon it for any reason than I just can't continue waiting 4 minutes to make a post, constantly get logged out, keep backspacing to a prior page or refreshing every time I get a timeout message, which is nearly EVERY time, so just adding a post turns into a 10 minute affair.

Came in tonight to follow up on latest activities, legislation or litigation, can't even get through a few pages reasonably and there are few updates anyway, very little discussion. Nothing like 10 years ago. it seems others are bailing too.

Just wondering if we can get a break on the automatic "closed thread" policy in the marketplace? I don't usually mind refreshing with a "TTT" post, but lately with site issue, I dread coming in and waiting ages for pages. Long live calguns!!

I have enjoyed this site for more than 10 years -- Learned a lot as well.

However, this has become intolerable.

For several months, I thought it was just my system. However, to think this has been a known problem to everyone for this long, and has remained unresolved ... Wow.

People are certainly leaving. Others have told me its just not worth it, and I am getting close to feeling the same.

OMG, what has happened to the speed on this site? This is first time I've tried to use in a month or so. I used to be very active and was wanting to become so again. But now the lag is horrible. Having to wait 15 seconds to change each page is unacceptable. Why hasn't anyone fixed this? I should also state, that I would be more than willing to pay a reasonable annual fee($10?) to use this site, if this is a matter of money.
